Grace is not a ground for us to sin! Romans 6:1 asks a very vital question, “should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace?”Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?
Does this mean that a born-again, Spirit-filled Christian is unlikely to commit sin? The Bible gives a straightforward answer: “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” [1 John 2: 1–2].
Each of us were all born with a sinful nature and as a result, condemned to spiritual death. That’s why Ezekiel 18: 4 says “The soul that sinneth, it shall die. But God, in His abundant love and mercy, refused to let us perish. Instead, He took our place on the cross through Jesus Christ, who paid the ultimate ransom for our salvation.
