Greetings, dear friends of @fulldeportes. Venezuelan baseball is just beginning to warm up, but it has already given us some surprises and other concerns that, as a fan of my beloved Nave Turca, I cannot overlook. If we remember the start of last season, the Tigres de Aragua made headlines by finishing their first week with four wins in five games. Magallanes, on the other hand, had a difficult start and managed just one victory in its first five games.

What's curious is that, in the 2026–2027 season, the Tigres are roaring once again right from the start, this time with five wins in their first six games, placing them at the top of the standings. Meanwhile, Magallanes seems to be living a nightmare that nobody expected after winning the previous championship. As of October 20, the Nave had managed to win just one of its first seven games, a situation that contrasts sharply with the joy we experienced a few months ago. And keep in mind, the season is only just beginning, but what a way to put the fans' hearts to the test!

In my opinion, Magallanes' biggest problem so far has been its pitching. Giving up so many runs makes it very difficult to compete, even when the offense manages to produce. Just think back to those two consecutive 10–6 losses against the Tiburones and the heavy 11–3 defeat against the Tigres just a few days ago. We can have good hitters, big names, and all the excitement of defending the title, but if the pitchers cannot hold the opposition back, things become much more complicated. And when a team keeps falling behind game after game, the pressure to solve everything with one big hit starts to build as well.

That said, I'm not going to count Magallanes out or celebrate the Tigres' championship in October. Venezuelan baseball has shown us time and time again that things can change in the blink of an eye. Even so, the Nave needs to respond as soon as possible, improve its pitching, and regain its confidence, because having a bad start is one thing, but getting used to losing is something entirely different. As a true Magallanes fan, I still believe in my team, but I also think that last season's title won't win games in this new campaign. There's still plenty of baseball left to play, and I hope my Nave finds its way soon!
