Greetings, dear friends at @fulldeportes. My post today comes with a spark of hope, yet with a bittersweet touch. It seems my "Turkish Ship" (Nave Turca) is finally showing signs of life in the 2026-2027 season, securing its second win against Caribes de Anzoátegui yesterday, October 22nd—offering us a bit of relief after such a difficult start. Nevertheless, we remain at the bottom of the standings; while a win always helps to lift spirits, we certainly can’t declare victory just yet. For me, what matters isn't just winning a single game, but finding the consistency required of a team that is coming off a championship season.
Today, October 23, Magallanes faces Caribes de Anzoátegui once again—a fresh opportunity to prove that their previous win was no fluke. I believe securing a victory here would be crucial (bringing their record to 7–3), helping to restore confidence before diving headlong into one of the most thrilling matchups in Venezuelan baseball. Up next are two consecutive games against their arch-rivals, Leones del Caracas. For fans of either Magallanes or Caracas, these games carry a special significance—even if the teams happen to be at the very bottom of the standings. It’s a matter of pride; I can’t quite explain why, but that’s simply how we experience our baseball.
Now, could these two games serve as a chance for redemption? I believe so—but keep in mind, this applies to both teams. Magallanes needs to show that it can put its poor start behind it, while Caracas also faces its own set of challenges and needs to pick up wins to avoid falling further behind. Winning the clásico doesn’t guarantee a successful season, but it can certainly shift the mood in the clubhouse and reignite the excitement of a fanbase that always expects the best from its team.
As a Magallanes fan, I want to see my team respond, play with more confidence, and remember that wearing that uniform means competing until the very last out. We cannot live off last season's championship or think that victories will come automatically just because we were champions. We have to go out there and earn them. Hopefully, this second victory will mark the beginning of a comeback and, against Caracas, we can make the statement we so desperately need. There is still plenty of baseball ahead, and I'm still riding with my Nave!
