Hello, good morning sewing family! It's a pleasure to greet you 👋🏻🥰 On this occasion, I'm sharing a bit of the creative process of making a men's shirt from athletic fabric. Although the process wasn't so easy, I was able to do it using the patterns I had on hand. I hope you like it. Next, let's go over the materials:

Paso 01
Step 01
In the first step we are going to cut the corresponding pieces of my shirt, for this we place the fabric in a fold and we are going to cut the pieces both the front and the back, the sleeves, the double collar and the two front facings for the shirt and separately a 2 cm wide strip for the edge of the collar.

Paso 02
Step 02
After cutting these pieces, it's time to sew. Here, I'm going to join the shoulders of the front and back pieces. Then, I'll make a "V" shaped notch right in the center of each sleeve, and we'll place this notch in the center of the shoulder seam of the shirt. I'll put a pin in place and sew the sleeves without sealing them at the bottom, just leaving them open so we can sew the collar later. If we seal it, it will be difficult to sew it later. Next, we'll place the interfacing on the shirt pieces or facings with the iron at a medium heat setting.

Paso 03
Step 03
We sew the facings with overlock stitching along the edge and now we are going to sew the collar (I haven't added fleece fabric to this one). Then we turn it right side out, make a reinforcing seam on top leaving 0.50 cm of the edge to the inside for sewing and iron it. We pin the facings to a 12 cm opening I made in the front of the shirt and sew it with a straight stitch on each side. We turn it right side out and the width of the facing is three centimeters. We will leave it like this without sewing to attach the collar.

Paso 04
Step 04
To position the collar, mark the midpoint of the facing on the upper side with chalk and make a small vertical cut of 0.50 cm at the 1.50 cm wide edge of the 3 cm facing. Position the collar there, ensuring the seam is on the inside. Then, position the 2 cm strip, sew it, fold it down, and topstitch again. The collar and strip should now be on the inside. Turn the facing right side out and sew it over, topping it with a seam. Also topstitch with a small rectangle and then sew along the edge, leaving a 10 cm opening at the bottom to fold the opening of the shirt inwards. Finally, hem the edges.
