Crossing Time: Watercolor Landscape of an Ancient Roman Bridge
Hello Hive community! Today I want to share one of my latest watercolor paintings with you.
In this piece, I wanted to combine the grandeur of ancient Roman architecture with the atmospheric, mist-covered landscapes of Northern Europe. The centerpiece of the artwork is a stone arch bridge, standing proudly against a backdrop of imposing mountains, rolling green hills, and a classic Scottish-style castle nestled in the distance.
I used soft grey and blue washes to capture the moody sky and rugged peaks, while layering warmer earth tones and greens for the vegetation and stone structures. Watercolors allow for that delicate transition of light and shadows, giving the scene a serene, almost dreamlike quality.

Attraversando il tempo: Paesaggio ad acquarello di un antico ponte romano
Ciao a tutta la community di Hive! Oggi desidero condividere con voi uno dei miei ultimi dipinti ad acquarello.
In quest'opera ho voluto fondere l'imponenza dell'antica architettura romana con le atmosfere suggestive e fosche tipiche dei paesaggi del Nord Europa. Il protagonista del dipinto è un ponte in pietra ad archi, che si erge con eleganza su uno sfondo di montagne imponenti, dolci colline verdi e un castello dallo stile nordico adagiato sullo sfondo.
Ho utilizzato velature sui toni del grigio e del blu per rendere il cielo nuvoloso e le vette rocciose, alternandole a toni più caldi della terra e del verde per la vegetazione e la struttura in pietra. L'acquarello permette di ottenere transizioni delicate tra luce e ombra, donando alla scena un'atmosfera serena e quasi fantastica.
Scorrendo le immagini potete osservare alcuni passaggi della fase di realizzazione, dalle prime campiture di colore per il cielo e le montagne fino ai dettagli più definiti sul ponte e sulla fortezza.
