One of the must-do outings during my family’s stay here in Bogotá was, without a second thought, taking the kids to Salitre Mágico, an amusement park so big and full of attractions that we ended up spending a whole day enjoying its facilities.
They were so excited when we told them we were going. So from the moment we arrived and were standing at the door, waiting for our turn to go in, their little faces radiated immense happiness. They couldn't hide their excitement and eagerness to start the adventure they'd been looking forward to so much.

Uno de los paseos obligatorios durante la estadía de mi familia aquí en Bogotá era, sin pensarlo mucho, llevar a los niños a Salitre Mágico, un parque de diversiones tan grande y lleno de atracciones que terminamos pasando un día completo disfrutando de sus instalaciones.
Se emocionaron mucho cuando les dijimos que iríamos. Así que desde que llegamos y nos encontrábamos en la puerta, esperando nuestro turno para entrar, sus caritas reflejaban una felicidad inmensa. No podían ocultar la emoción y las ganas de comenzar a vivir aquella aventura que tanto esperaban.
Once inside, we started exploring the park and discovering all the rides. Little by little, the kids began riding the ones appropriate for their age, and that’s how they started to feel more comfortable. Each ride was a new experience, an opportunity to laugh, get excited, and have fun. They wanted to ride every single one.
However, one of my little ones—the youngest—had to get measured before he could ride some of the attractions, since he wasn’t tall enough yet. He was so excited to be able to enjoy everything! And we, paying close attention to every detail, stayed by his side and always looked for ways to make sure he could have a fun day too.
Una vez dentro, empezamos a recorrer el parque y a descubrir todas las atracciones. Poco a poco, los niños fueron subiéndose a aquellas adecuadas para su edad, y así comenzaron a entrar en confianza. Cada juego era una nueva experiencia, una oportunidad para reír, emocionarse y disfrutar. Querían subirse a todas las atracciones.
Sin embargo, uno de mis chipilines, el más pequeño, tenía que pasar por el momento de ser medido antes de poder entrar a algunas atracciones, pues todavía no alcanzaba la estatura exigida. ¡Cuánta ilusión tenía de poder disfrutar de todo! Y nosotros, pendientes de cada detalle, acompañándolo y buscando siempre opciones para que también viviera su día de diversión.
Between races, games, and so many exciting moments, there was also time to treat them to some candy and cotton candy. Although Bogotá had woken up to a slightly cloudy morning and the sun wasn’t shining very brightly, their enthusiasm and eagerness to run back and forth made them very thirsty. That’s why we always had water on hand so they could stay hydrated and keep having fun.
My sister, my nephews, my daughter, and I shared a wonderful day. We chatted, laughed, and enjoyed the children’s joy, all while keeping a close eye on them every single moment.
Entre carreras, juegos y tantas emociones, también hubo tiempo para consentirlos con algunos dulces y algodón de azúcar. Aunque Bogotá había amanecido un poco nublada y no hacía tanto sol, el entusiasmo y las ganas de correr de un lado a otro hacían que les diera mucha sed. Por eso, siempre teníamos agua a mano para que pudieran hidratarse y continuar disfrutando.
Mi hermana, mis sobrinos, mi hija y yo compartimos un día maravilloso. Conversamos, nos reímos y disfrutamos de la alegría de los niños, sin dejar de estar pendientes de ellos ni un solo instante.
When it reached four in the afternoon, we began to convince them that we’d had enough for the day and that we’d come back another time. It wasn’t an easy task, because they still wanted to keep having fun.
It was a beautiful, wonderful day; I’m sure it will be unforgettable for my beloved little ones.
The photos we took capture the most beautiful memories of this family adventure, full of laughter and happy moments that I’ll always treasure.
Cuando llegaron las cuatro de la tarde, comenzamos a convencerlos de que ya había sido suficiente por ese día y de que regresaríamos en otra oportunidad. No fue tarea fácil, porque todavía querían seguir disfrutando.
Fue un día hermoso, maravilloso, estoy segura de que será inolvidable para mis chipilines amados.
Las fotografías que tomamos guardan el más bello recuerdo de esta aventura familiar, llena de risas y momentos felices que atesoraré siempre.
