Hello, my dear foodie friends!
I hope you’re all doing great, surrounded by the love of your family and enjoying good health and well-being.
One day while out for a walk with my family here in Bogotá, we ended up at the Hornitos restaurant, where my nephew was craving some cachapas. Although, come to think of it, I think behind that craving was also a desire to compare these cachapas with ours.
Honestly, I still think our cachapas are in a league of their own. Maybe it’s just habit, the flavors of home, or everything they remind us of, but to me, they have that certain something that makes them unique. ❤️
However, I have to admit that the ones from Hornitos are pretty good. We tried them stuffed with shredded meat, and although they’re different from what we’re used to eating, they have that little flavor that, in one way or another, connects me to our cuisine and makes me feel a little closer to home.
My nephew really liked them, especially because they were served with ajiaco—that soup so representative of Colombian cuisine—which he absolutely loved. And so, amid cravings, comparisons, flavors, and family conversations, we had a very pleasant time together as a family.
And even though we really liked the cachapas from Hornitos, I’ll stick with ours—the ones we’ve always had!
Until next time!
¡Hasta una próxima oportunidad!
