Greetings and blessings, #lifestyle friends! I hope you’re all doing well and have a wonderful weekend.
This time, I want to tell you that, taking advantage of the nice August breezes, we went to Simón Bolívar Park to join in on that kite festival that the kids look forward to so eagerly here in Bogotá—and, I think, all over Colombia.
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was fantastic. The sky was full of colors, kites were flying everywhere, and the children’s joy could be felt in every corner of the park. My little nieces and nephews were happy, enjoying the thrill of flying their kites, running across the grass, and looking up to watch them dance in the wind.

En esta oportunidad quiero contarles que aprovechando los buenos vientos de agosto, nos fuimos al parque Simón Bolívar para sumarnos a esa fiesta de las cometas que los niños esperan con tanta ilusión aquí en Bogotá y creo que en toda Colombia.
Desde que llegamos, el ambiente era genial. El cielo estaba lleno de colores, las cometas volaban por todas partes y la alegría de los niños se sentía en cada rincón del parque. Mis sobrinitos estaban felices, disfrutando de la emoción de elevar sus cometas, correr por el césped y mirar hacia arriba para verlas bailar con el viento.
Sometimes the kites would get tangled in the trees, and that’s when our little adventure to retrieve them would begin. It was a real challenge—especially because we had to figure out a way to resolve the situation without Mateo, the youngest of the kids, getting frustrated or throwing a tantrum. We know that at that age, things don’t always go the way you want them to, and you have to be a little patient. But together, we figured out a way to get the kite back down—and we did it! In the end, those little hiccups were part of the fun, too, and left us with a few stories to remember.
It was a spectacular day, with wonderful weather, a beautiful sky, and lots of laughter shared as a family.
En algunos momentos, las cometas terminaban enredadas en los árboles y ahí comenzaba nuestra pequeña aventura para recuperarlas. Un verdadero reto. Sobre todo, porque teníamos que resolver la situación sin que Mateo, el más pequeño de los niños, se frustrara o se pusiera bravo. Ya sabemos que, a esa edad, las cosas no siempre salen como uno quiere y hay que tener un poquito de paciencia. Pero, entre todos, buscamos la manera de alcanzar nuevamente la cometa y, ¡lo logramos! Al final, esas pequeñas dificultades también hicieron parte de la diversión y nos dejaron alguna que otra anécdota para recordar.
Fue un día espectacular, con un clima estupendo, un cielo precioso y muchas risas compartidas en familia
