“Los Enamorados,” the bar in Portinatx, Ibiza, that steals hearts

Hi there!! I hope you’re having a great day. I think that a good meal is often accompanied by a good experience. There might be a delicious dish, but if it’s paired with a bitter moment, it will probably lose all its flavor.

That’s why, every now and then, I’ll share with you some places I’ve gone to eat or have a drink—places I’ve specially selected during my travels to discover the unique dining experience each one offers.

Today, we’re going to check out Los Enamorados. A while back, I took a trip to Portinatx when I was living in Ibiza. Lots of people had recommended this bar to me, saying it was spectacular.

“Los Enamorados” el bar de Portinatx, Ibiza, que se roba corazones

Buenas buenas!! Espero que estén pasando un gran día. Creo que muchas veces a una buena comida, la acompaña una buena experiencia. Puede haber un plato delicioso, que si está acompañado de un momento amargo, va a perder probablemente todo su sabor.

Es por eso que cada tanto, compartiré con ustedes algunos lugares a los que he ido a comer o tomar algo, seleccionados especialmente en mis viajes para conocer la experiencia gastronómica que se enclava en ciertos espacios.

Hoy vamos a conocer Los Enamorados. Hace un tiempo me fui de paseo a Portinatx, cuando estaba viviendo en Ibiza. Mucha gente me había recomendado este bar que decían que era espectacular.

Since I was traveling alone, going to this particular bar didn’t seem like such a great idea, but since it was so close, I decided to take a chance and go by myself to a bar whose very name suggested companionship.

You know I’m a solo traveler, and you can imagine that I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve eaten alone, at any time of day. But I find it much easier in places where I’m completely anonymous. Ibiza suddenly became a very familiar place, and I knew quite a few people there. And honestly, I thought it wouldn’t be great to run into someone at that bar—I think that was what was holding me back the most from going.

Still, as I was saying, I got over it, and one afternoon I decided to check out the place. I walked there from the hotel where I was staying, and just that experience in itself was really pleasant.

Como había viajado sola, no me pareció una idea tan genial ir justamente a este bar, pero el estar tan cerca, hizo que me atreviera a ir sola al bar que por su nombre, ya denotaba compañía.

Saben que soy una solo traveler y se podrán imaginar que he perdido la cuenta de la cantidad de veces que he comido sola, en cualquier momento del día. Pero me resulta mucho más fácil en lugares en donde soy anónima total. Ibiza de pronto se convirtió en una zona muy familiar y conocía allí a bastante gente. Y la verdad es que pensé que no estaría muy bueno encontrarme a alguien en ese bar, creo que eso era lo que más me frenaba a ir.

Igualmente como les decía, superé esto y una tarde decidí acercarme al lugar. Fui caminando desde el hotel en el que me estaba quedando y ya, esa experiencia en sí, fue muy agradable.

Los Enamorados was particularly appealing because the menu took a back seat to the spectacular view this bar offers.

You’re right on the water, right where the boats dock to relax or watch the sunset, and no matter where you sit, you can enjoy a beautiful view, as you can see in the photos.

In my case, I had nachos with avocado and washed them down with a beer, but the taste really took a back seat, since I got lost in the scenery and also watched the different groups and couples who were there, enjoying the moment.

Los Enamorados resultaba por demás atractivo porque el menú, quedaba en un segundo lugar, ya que la vista que ofrece este bar es espectacular.

Estás frente al mar, justo donde se ubican las embarcaciones para descansar o para ver la puesta del sol, y casi te ubiques donde sea, puedes disfrutar de un paisaje bellísimo, como lo pueden ver en las fotos.

En mi caso comí nachos con aguacate y lo acompañé con una cerveza, y realmente quedó muy atrás el sabor, ya que me perdí en el paisaje y contemplé también a los diferentes grupos o parejas que estaban allí, disfrutando de ese momento.

In a way, I actually liked being alone in the end, since I was able to be in silence and enjoy what I was seeing. It often happens to me that I’m in really beautiful places, but in the end, the conversation doesn’t really do the place justice, and the experience ends up being colored more by the conversation than by the moment itself.

You’ll see a photo of a green wall—that’s the bathroom there. It was super vintage, and I loved it. It also had a chair with that mirror, which was softly lit, and I couldn’t help but take a few shots.

En parte me gustó estar sola, al final, ya que pude estar en silencio y disfrutando de lo que veía. Me pasa muchas veces que estoy en lugares muy bonitos y al final la charla quizás no me resulta tan expansiva, y la experiencia queda más teñida por la conversación que por el momento en sí.

Verán una foto con una pared verde, se trata del baño del lugar. Era súper vintage y me encantó. Además tenía una silla con ese espejo, levemente alumbrado, y no pude evitar hacer unas tomas.
