My best friend and confidential friend Benita has been good to me as I always visit her whenever I have my plans to be executed, I will always go to her and seek her opinion on what thing am planning to do. Although, it's that I cannot handle my case and plan by myself, but seeking Benitas opinion is what I have been used to in my entire life.
On this faithful day, I walked up to her and told her about my plan of investing in cryptocurrency. I told her "Benny someone from our class group asked if I'm interested in going into cryptocurrency and I'm thinking of going into it.” “Wow! That's good,” She exclaimed. “Thank you,” I replied. “The only problem I'm seeing here is that people cannot be trusted when it comes to investment like cryptocurrency and I wouldn't want you to be duped,”she said.
She said this to me, my heart began to sink as I have previously heard people saying what Dele had just told me. So, I began to have a rethink in my heart as I would not want to lose my money to fraudsters and just because of this reason, I decided on the same spot not to go into cryptocurrency and I told dele saying, I needed to learn about it and be sure before making the investment.
“Benny, thank you for your word of advice, I don't think I will be going into cryptocurrency for now, I have once heard about people being duped by when they don't have proper knowledge of it in the past and I wouldn't want to be duped of my hard earned money, once again, thank you so much my friend.”
So, after our conversation, I left her side and I was happy for her kind and thorough advice, on my way home, I was happy that I had not fallen in to the trap of fraudsters through my a class mate in our group Kenny, although, I have known kenny, I mean Kenny as a good guy with integrity , but the saying that there's no more good man in our society made me doubt his integrity and since my trusted friend had given me his advice, I didn't even think twice than to believe her and doubt the integrity of Kenny.
However, as time went by, things began to unfold itself to me and I realised that not everything is believed to be accepted or taking hook, line and sinker from people no matter how tested and trusted they might be to us, not only that, no matter how that your friend is being closed to you, try to doubt his or her decision once in a while.
So, after a few years of putting my life and my trust in the hand of Benny, something happened. On a particular day, Benny told me that she's going to be moving out of her rented apartment to another place. When she told me this, I was elated and this was because I believed She too can trust me with her life. So, I asked her,
“I asked where can we meet?"
Immediately she got my message, she replied and said,
“Let's meet at golden guinea at 2pm.”
After I had said this, I went to my boss at work to take permission and thank God, the woman didn't hesitate as she granted my permission, I guess she was in a good mood.
Immediately she had granted my permission, I went back to my office to pack my things and set out to our meeting point. It's on my way that I called her that I was on my way.
So, she told me that she's very close to our meeting point. So, when I got to our agreed point of meeting, I met her there and when we saw each other, she said.
“Sarah, I have just got another place and I want you to assess the place for me.” “Okay, I will do as you wish, “ I said.
I was happy that she's chosen among all our friends to come and check out his new apartment. Well, it's not surprising to me as I have always chosen her ahead of others as well.
So, we didn't waste our time as we set out on the journey, but as we are going, I realised that where he was taking me too was a little bit far and that was how I began to ask her how she would prefer to rent an apartment in a far place like this, but she would not even open up and what she told me was that, she liked a serene environment where she would not be disturbed.
After a while, we got to a well built house which was about 90% completed and as we alight from the taxi, When she told me that we are passing through the house to the place she had gotten her new apartment and as we got into the house, she paused and turned her face to me telling me that,
“Sarah, this is what the Lord has done.”
I couldn't believe my ear when I heard her telling me this as I was shocked. I was shocked as I couldn't believe that someone in had always trusted my life and plans with could hide such a big project from me, but I couldn't react negatively to what had happened so as for her not to be see me as enemy of progress, i congratulated her and wish her well.
However, ever since then, I have always kept my plans with me and with that, I have been able to achieve so much with plans as no one would stop or discourage me from going ahead in doing those great things I had wished to do for myself. It's not an easy job but somebody has to do it. I had to learn to choose myself.
