To start with, I'd first like to start by stating some of the benefits remote work has had or would have on both the organization and the employee. For instance, there will definitely be a drastic reduction in the cost of renting a big office space; there'll also be a reduction in the amount spent on electricity and operational costs.
On the part of the employee, such staff won't have to spend on transportation, not to forget they won't have to spend a lot on food or getting lots of corporate clothes to keep up appearances. One of the key benefits of this kind of work to organizations is how they can easily gain access to top gems, since there are no limitations to having only people who live around the office.
But not everyone wants this, some people like to go to office and some people are forced to do so because they cannot work from home. If I talk about the benefits, there are many benefits like you do not have to travel daily and how do you incur expenses, you do not have to buy expensive clothes. You save a lot of money in travelling and if you travel to office then you also spend a lot on food and drinks.
And if you are a party person then what to say about weekends. So if I talk about myself, I like working from home a lot and my job is such that I can work from home as well but I don't think my boss will allow it. If maybe one person says to work from home then everyone will start saying the same and in such a situation it becomes very difficult to manage a big team if everyone is working from home.
Sometimes it happens that if you are working from home and you have a big team, then it becomes very difficult to manage them. If you are a single person then there is not much problem in it because you can take responsibility for yourself but you cannot take responsibility of others. Sometimes it happens that we take responsibility but after that all the problems fall on us.
So if you lead a big team then it can be dangerous for you. Everyone has their own way of working. When the lockdown was imposed all over the world, many people were working from home. But everyone likes different types of lifestyles.
Some people like to go to office daily, like to meet new people, some people like to work sitting at home.It was during the COVID-19 period when offices and schools shut down and online classes became the new norm that most of us became aware to working from home. We gained experience of platforms like Zoom and it's virtual meetings( I remember, at first it was totally strange. It felt like we are not learning or having any meeting but sort of a whatsapp call with our relatives.
Personally, I even found content writing during this time. I was previously unaware of such digital skills. So, the COVID era proved to be a "blessing in disguise" for us.I would say it polished our digital skills and revealed the hidden digital potential of the digital world that needed to be explored. Still the digital world is evolving and we have to evolve along with it.
However, it is not the case that the importance of office work has diminished.In fact, it is still significant. There is a lot of work that requires in person presence and people actively trying their luck to have such government jobs. I have personally taken numerous exams for these government jobs where i could train myself with the office work ethics too.
