Tutorial on how i made a fabric purse with double pocket using scrap fabrics for my friend.

Hello everyone

Happy new month and a beautiful day to you all in this great community, I wish you all positive achievements in all you do this month, it is so nice to be here today to share with you the making of this fabric purse with double pocket for my friend.

Recently, i made a simple purse which my friend saw and liked the simplicity of it and how beautiful the outcome is, she later commissioned me to make similar purse for her but she would prefer a purse with double space to separate her phone and cash or other items she might have in it, that was why I decided to make her purse just as she has described and the outcome was very nice and appreciated by her.

Join me as I take you through the cutting and sewing process below

The first step was to cut out the main fabric for the purse which was measured 8 x 11 inches from one of my orange color fabric

I folded it in two and I made a small curve at the edges just as seen below

The fabric placed on a black lining to cut out same shape, I placed the main fabric on the lining right side to right side and it was sewn together round, leaving a small opening by the side

It was turned to the right side through the opening I left by the side and was neatly ironed

The opening was top stitched on and it was set aside

For the inner piece to separate the purse in two, I measured and cut out 2 pieces of fabric from my scrap fabric measuring 3.5 x 8 inches

I placed the two fabrics together and se it round, leaving an opening where it can be turned to the right side

It was turned to the right side and top stitched round

Then I placed the small on the wrong side of the main fabric just as seebelow

It was folded up with 4 inches and I sew on both sides to keep the small piece firm and secured as well

You can see how ni the outcome is, finally, I used my hand needle and to fix a press button on both sides of the purse at the top, a phone was kept in one side and the other side can be used to keep other items a well

My friend was so happy to have the purse just hs she wanted it to be.

Thanks so much for your time support comment and encouragement. Until my next post, do have a great day and a productive month.
