The topic that brought me here today to Talent Gathering: 4-Week Challenge (4 “Always Do Your Best”), where the question and prompt were: How do you live your life? Do you leave things undone, or do you simply give it your all? It got me thinking because, precisely in recent times, I’ve arrived at a clear answer to share with you, so this topic fits like a glove. Now that I’ve introduced the topic, let’s explore my answer.

A few years ago, if you had asked me this question, my answer would most likely have been different, because back then I thought I’d always have the chance to do things differently—that I’d have the time, youth, health, and energy available to do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. That’s what I thought back then, so I ended up putting off many important things, believing that I could do whatever I wanted at any moment. But life itself and God showed me that what I thought was one thing, and what actually happened was another. By the time I realized it, life itself had caught up with me, and my priorities had already shifted.

As the years went by, I realized that I had stopped doing many things, that I’d left some half-finished because I kept putting them off, and that in other areas I did give it my all—and then some—such as starting a family, taking care of my children and my home, and I’m still doing that; but one thing has changed, and that’s my perspective on how to do things—and I mean everything in general, not just those related to my family. I’ve come to realize the importance of doing things on time—even the simplest tasks—and giving them 100 percent, because it gives you that sense of satisfaction: that you started something and completed it with excellence. And that’s priceless, because you’re leaving an indelible mark of who you are in everything you do.

Personally, you know you’re giving your best for yourself and for others; because you already know that lost time, as our elders say, “even the saints mourn,” and that what wasn’t made the most of in the moment is gone for good. You start to value every moment or activity you have the chance to do—even the simplest ones—because you know you have a privilege, a blessing in your hands, and that is the day that lies ahead of you—and that you still have the health, energy, and life to live it—and you have the complete certainty that tomorrow is not guaranteed, only the here and now, and that you must make the most of every moment lived, not live half-heartedly, but always at 100%; that means doing what you can do, giving that hug, having that coffee with your friend today, enjoying the here and now.

In conclusion, I’m very clear that life is just a moment and that everything must be done with excellence, until God tells us “that’s enough,” because that speaks more about you than anything else; so in this season of my life, I try to do whatever is in my power, giving it my all every day. Best regards, friends!

Saludos 👋
