Greetings to everyone in the Music community. Today I’m joining you here to share a new music video with you. This time, it features Canticum Merú’s performance at the Teresa Carreño Theater, José Félix Rivas Hall, during the 2026 National Choral Festival in tribute to Modesta Bor. We performed several songs that helped showcase Maestro Modesta’s music and, as a women’s choir, were truly beautiful and fitting. I’ll share those with you in the future. However, today I’m bringing you this medley of calypsos from Ciudad Guayana performed by us: “Easter Morning” by Serenata Guayanesa and “Lo bailas sin querer” by Ricardo Donado. We sang this song at the end, and Madame (who is also a young member of the choir) joined us, dancing throughout both songs and adding a unique touch to the performance. It was a truly beautiful moment because my mom was there too—she traveled all the way from Valencia just to see me.
These are cheerful songs that lift anyone’s spirits. I dedicate this song first and foremost to my mom, who I truly love—this moment in particular stands out to me from the entire performance—and also to my uncle Miguel Rivero, who underwent surgery yesterday, September 18, to have his pacemaker replaced, and it was a complete success. Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Music. El día de hoy me uno por acá para compartir con ustedes un nuevo video musical. En esta ocasión se trata sobre la presentación de Canticum Merú en el Teatro Teresa Carreño, Sala José Félix Rivas, durante el Encuentro Nacional de Coros 2026 en homenaje a Modesta Bor. Llevamos varias canciones que cumplían con dar a conocer la música de la maestra Modesta y que, cómo coro femenino, resultaban realmente bellas y adecuadas. Las mostraré en un futuro. Sin embargo hoy les traigo este popurrí de calipsos de Ciudad Guayana interpretados por nosotras: "Easter Morning" de Serenata Guayanesa y "Lo bailas sin querer" de Ricardo Donado. Esta canción la cantamos al final, donde también aparece la Madame (que también es una joven miembro del coro) y que baila durante ambas canciones, otorgando un aspecto diferente a esta presentación. Fue un momento realmente bello porque también estuvo presente mi mamá, quien viajó desde Valencia solo para verme.
Son canciones alegres y que levantan el ánimo de cualquiera. Le dedico esta canción primeramente a mi mamá, quien realmente amo este momento en especial de toda la presentación y también a mi tío Miguel Rivero, quien ayer 18 de septiembre fue operado para cambio de marcapasos y fue todo un éxito. Te quiero mucho mami y tío Miguel, espero que disfruten de la canción. Sin más que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.
