Day started out with blue sky - forecast was for showers later. Best get moving to check on orchids. Track I want to walk is still closed - next week. Jumped in the car to walk Grosvenor Fire Trail in Wahroonga. Should find 3 orchids at least

Next new orchid sign - budding bearded orchid - clue is the bracts on the spike

Then found small waxlip orchids in an expected place - caladenia glossodia.
Leek orchid spikes just emerging - two spikes in a known spot - 4 plants last year but it is early days.
Fairy fingers orchid found way down the track - a first sighting here

No buds on the snake orchid up high - photo missing
Budding flying duck orchids - 3 ducks in a row - red markers shows the bottom of reddish spikes

A couple of waxlips on the way back.
Walked off track a bit to check on leek orchids and found a budding sun orchid
Saw a huge flash of white spots on the left - fairy orchids in a big cluster. Seen them above the track but not below. Maybe 100 in 20 square metres

In among them was one with pink flowers - normally white
And right there was a budding sun orchid - not warm enough to open - they like 24C - not 20C
Rainy cleared away for a good flat walk. Got the three target orchids - a win
Did walk to shops after I got home - takes the step count over 10k. Not the plan the day after a pickleball day
