Epic Games Store has once again refreshed its weekly selection of free games, and this time PC players can add two very different experiences to their libraries without spending a single dollar.
The new promotion includes Mindcop and Shogun Showdown, two indie games that have received very positive reactions from players. Both titles can be claimed until September 24 after which the store will replace them with two new games.
The first game is Mindcop, a detective adventure that puts players in the middle of a murder investigation at Merrylin Crater Camp. You have only five days to investigate the case, question its inhabitants and uncover the secrets hidden behind their stories.
What makes Mindcop particularly interesting is its unusual way of investigating suspects. The protagonist can enter their minds through a mechanic called Mindsurf, where players solve real-time puzzles to unlock new clues and conversations.
Your decisions also matter throughout the investigation. Depending on how you approach the case and what information you discover, the story can lead to different endings, giving the adventure some replay value.
The second free game is Shogun Showdown, a turn-based combat roguelite inspired by feudal Japan. It combines tactical positioning, deck-building mechanics and pixel-art visuals to create a game where every move can make a difference.
Combat is built around positioning your character correctly and choosing the right moment to attack. Players can upgrade their attack tiles, combine abilities to create powerful combos and unlock new skills as they progress through the game.
There is also an important roguelite element. Losing a battle does not simply mean starting over from nothing. Death allows players to unlock additional characters, attacks and abilities that can make future attempts more powerful.
That structure makes Shogun Showdown especially interesting for players who enjoy games that become deeper with every failed attempt. The ultimate objective is to build a strong enough combination of abilities to eventually face the Shogun.
Both games normally have a $14.99 price on Epic Games Store, making the current promotion an easy opportunity for players looking to expand their libraries. The only requirement is to claim them before the promotion ends.
And Epic is already preparing the next giveaway. From September 24 through October 1, players will be able to claim Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles and Mechabellum for free.
