Greetings, friends at @holoslotus.
It’s been over a month since I last posted on Hive, and the truth is that I’ve been working on other projects that—while still centered on my well-being—felt like a pressure cooker about to explode inside me: I’d think them over and over again, but I didn’t know how to let them out. Today I want to talk to you about this process and its outcome.
Sometimes I wonder how many versions of ourselves we project onto our screens. Those who have followed my journey in the community are used to finding in my writings reflections on well-being, mindful movement, personal growth, and a constant search for light with which I try to nourish my daily life. However, that’s not the whole story.
Today I want to talk to you about my dark side, which also dwells within me and which I inhabit. I’m not talking about hidden evil or terrifying shadows, but rather that other half of the emotional pendulum that I rarely share in writing, yet which resides within me with the same intensity.
I live in a daily reality that shakes the ground beneath my feet every day. And although my natural compass steers me toward high-frequency emotions—deep love, enthusiasm for new projects, stubborn hope, and optimism—my sensitivity isn’t impervious. There are days when my positivity levels simply dip. Days when the reality around me weighs me down, impatience gains ground, sadness sits beside me, and despair knocks on the door.
Those low points have always been there; it’s just that I used to overcome them with determination, like someone jumping over hurdles on a track. Once the race was over and I returned to calm, I would write about the subject from that side: the side of serenity, the beautiful one, the one that seeks to offer encouragement and serve as a source of support for my readers. But if there’s one thing I’ve come to understand on this journey, it’s that not expressing the shadow only makes it bigger.
Balancing these two sides isn’t always easy. There are days when there’s a real head-on collision inside me: on one side, the woman who trusts, who promotes calm, and who knows that everything passes; on the other, the person who is overwhelmed by the reality around her, who grows impatient, and who is filled with doubts.
I used to experience this tension as a contradiction, as if feeling sadness or despair were a step backward on my own path. But today I understand that this confrontation isn’t a flaw; it’s simply the vital pulse of being alive and sensitive to my surroundings.
Returning to the center doesn’t happen by magic, nor does it mean reaching a permanent state of “perfect life” where nothing affects me. That center I’m talking about isn’t an immovable pedestal; it’s more like the keel of a ship in the midst of the waves: it moves, it tilts, but it doesn’t sink.
I’ve learned that inner well-being isn’t something that comes from the outside when circumstances change or become ideal. It doesn’t depend on the weather, my surroundings, or everything running perfectly smoothly. Well-being is a conscious commitment. It’s a daily decision to take action, to actively seek out strategies that ground me in my body, remind me to breathe, and allow me to process what I’m feeling without getting stuck in the shadows.
Returning to the center means understanding that I can be sad without losing my capacity to love, that I can feel impatience without giving up hope, and that true balance lies not in avoiding the storm, but in knowing how to navigate it with kindness toward myself so that I can once again enjoy the light when the horizon clears.

From that creative tension—that constant back-and-forth between the light I seek and the shadows that pass through me—a new project is born that fills me with excitement: a new column I’ve called “Venezuelan Chiaroscuro: Chronicles Between Chaos and Humor.”
This space arises precisely from the need to recount daily events, blending everyday chronicles with irony, vulnerability, and the search for meaning in our unique reality. It’s an invitation to look at ourselves in the mirror of our own dualities and find, perhaps, a smile in the midst of the storm.
Thank you for always joining me here and for allowing me to reveal a little more of myself today—with my lights and my shadows.
And you—how do you deal with your own dark side when reality closes in and throws you off balance?
