Bertha Lake

After about 2.5 hours and 500 metres of elevation gain, I finally arrived at Bertha Lake! Located inside Waterton Lakes national park, this hike is one of the premier must do hikes in the park. That being said, the number one top rated hike is on the other side of the lake actually. That is the hike to Crypt Lake, but the trailhead is accessible by boat only. This hike is longer and tougher than Bertha. I have been eyeing it for some time now, but I’ve always thought it was too tough for me. I’m having second thought and may attempt it next summer (stay tuned). Back to the Bertha hike. An add on to the Bertha hike is an optional 4 kilometre loop around the lake itself. Should I or shouldn’t I do it?! Thanks for stopping by.

    I really like the peaceful feeling of this place The colors of the water and the mountains remind me how much beauty there is in nature. I could easily spend hours sitting by this lake, just watching the changing light

    The result is well worth the time you spend there. The place is truly beautiful. The gentle ripples on the water are also quite lovely.

    Despite my love for color, black and white photos convey a more powerful emotional impression. Of course, the beauty of a photograph lies in the skill of the eye that captured it.
