“OK, but, don't believe the hype. Grumps and Bad Grandma did the horse and carriage thing for their 50th wedding anniversary, and I'm telling you: it may look romantic, but on a hot day, it doesn't smell romantic at all.”
Ten-year-old Glendella Ludlow was giving the straight facts on a Lofton County situation developing on Uppity Foolery Watch, while she was watching with Upgrade Papa and Good Grandma, also known as Capt. R.E. and Mrs. Thalia Ludlow, the cousins who had adopted her.
“The other thing you gotta watch out for with this situation is something that George would be interested in to power his rocket to space,” Glendella said. “Hot day means horses have to drink more water, and with the wrong feed for that situation, they can get gas.”
“And, you know this from personal experience?” Mrs. Ludlow said gently as Capt. Ludlow started chuckling.
“No, because they wouldn't let me up there to spoil their Smallwood photo op,” Glendella said. “I was really hurt, but Sis. Mosette Smith just held me in her arms and explained to me: “Man's rejection is God's protection.”
“Amen,” Capt. Ludlow said as he and Mrs. Ludlow both embraced Glendella.
“You're invited to be part of our next wedding anniversary when it comes around,” Mrs. Ludlow said.
“Thank you; I am definitely there!” Glendella said. “I mean, I live here now, but I mean, I want to be part!”
“And you will be,” Capt. Ludlow said.
