Hello everyone!
My daughter was so excited for Buwan ng Wika 2026. For her, it was not just another school activity. It was a day to dress up, join her classmates, smile, and simply enjoy being a child.
Her teacher prepared a small contest for the children, including a contest for the most beautiful traditional costume. It became one of the highlights of their Buwan ng Wika celebration.
As a mother, I was also excited because I could see how happy she was while preparing for school.
Good thing she has a Ninang who owns a gown business. We were able to borrow a beautiful gown for free. So, we did not need to spend money for her costume.
Sometimes, we need good people around our children. There are people who make things easier for us without expecting anything in return. For us, borrowing a gown may seem like a small thing, but as a parent, it means a lot. It saved us money and gave my daughter a beautiful costume that made her feel special.
We went to school as early as 7:00 in the morning, but when we arrived, the school was still closed. So while waiting, my little princess decided to have her own awra moment outside the school. She was already enjoying her pink gown even before the program started!
When the program finally started, all the children were excited. They were wearing different Filipino-inspired costumes, smiling, walking, and showing their confidence.
I love activities like this because they give children a chance to be active, participate, and express themselves. At their young age, these simple experiences can help them become more confident and comfortable in front of other people.
For me, the best part was not really the contest. It was seeing my daughter happy, excited, and confident in her beautiful gown.
A simple gown, a simple school activity, and a simple rampa but behind it are memories that we will surely treasure.
