A wild apple tree. Just look at what a great apple harvest! There are so many of them on the tree. They’re such appetizing, red apples. I ate one—it tasted sweet with a slight tang. I love apples; they’re very good for your health. Apples even whiten your teeth. I once worked in an orchard where we picked apples; we ate a lot of them there—it was impossible to resist eating them. Ten apples in the basket and one in my mouth—well, that’s just a joke. Not quite that many, of course, but we still ate a lot of apples. I used to eat about 8 apples per shift. That’s how my teeth ended up a couple of shades whiter. And my knees, too. So keep that in mind. Eat more apples, and your teeth will be white. Besides eating apples straight from the tree, you can make jam out of them, or add them to pies, pastries, buns, and other treats. Apples also make a very tasty sweet-and-sour juice. I love apple juice. Apples are rich in vitamins. That’s why you should eat at least one or two apples a day. It’s fall apple season right now. I love fall apples—they’re not too soft and have a slightly tart flavor. I remember how my mom used to pack apples in my backpack for school, and my classmates and I would eat them together during recess. It was a great snack. By the way, I don’t know about you, but after eating apples, I feel like eating something else. They really work up my appetite. That’s why I eat them after I’ve had a hearty meal, like porridge with meat. Eat apples and stay healthy.

  • Eating your way through eight apples a shift in an orchard is the kind of on-the-job training nobody offers anymore, and the wild tree repaying you with a full harvest is a sweet full circle.
