The Art of Moaning About the Weather

Today I decided to head out for a walk at a local nature reserve. The weather was pleasant enough, with patches of blue sky and white clouds overhead.

I followed a narrow gravel path that wound its way through tall green grass and open meadow.

Along the way, I spotted a variety of wildflowers, including bright white daisies and a tiny striped hoverfly resting on a bright yellow dandelion flower.

As I walked further along the trail, I passed several birch trees with leaves turning a lovely golden colour for autumn.

I even spotted a smart looking magpie checking out the information board next to the track.

Closer to the ground, there was plenty of interesting wildlife to discover. I saw a distinctive shaggy inkcap mushroom pushing up through the green grass.

It was a short walk as it gradually became a bit overcast, and I realised I was not particularly near the car. The sky started looking a little grey and threatening rain, and I certainly did not want to get caught out in a sudden downpour without a proper waterproof jacket on.

You can really feel the season shifting now, with that crisp bite starting in the air once the sun disappears behind the clouds. It definitely makes you appreciate those warmer, sunnier spells while they last. The problem is, it got far too hot during the summer months, and we all said that when it got cold we would not moan about it... I don’t think that will happen. I am sure it is in the British DNA to moan about the bloody weather!

The wildflowers on that gravel path were doing their best to shut down the moaning, and a walk through tall green grass is the right cure anyway.

Nature is just so beautiful and your pictures really have captured the extreme brilliance of it, remarkable!

Definitely a subtle and charming blend, of early autumn beauty portraying the best art. I must say that I really loved those amazing and great close-up nature shots. Divine feeling.

  • That nature walk looks so peaceful, my friend! And haha, I totally loved your joke at the end about complaining about the weather being in the British DNA—so true! Thanks for sharing such a wonderful vibe
