Apocalypto is a village movie about a group of enemies who suddenly attack a village and destroy everything. They kill people, capture the men and force them to become slaves. The main actor, Jaguar Paw, has a wife and a child, so when the enemies attack, he quickly hides his wife and child inside a deep hole to keep them safe while he is captured with the other men. The enemies are very cruel and destroy houses, kill people and take many people away from their homes. They punish the captured men and force them to work for them until many of them lose hope. Later, they decide to kill the remaining men one after another, and they paint their bodies so they can easily identify them.
The enemies start killing the men one by one, and one of Jaguar Paw's best friends is killed in front of everyone. They remove his heart, and everyone becomes scared and starts crying because they are watching their friends die right in front of them. When it gets to Jaguar Paw's turn, they lay him down and are about to kill him, but suddenly the sky becomes dark and the situation changes. The people stop what they are doing and decide to use another method to kill the remaining men.
They take the remaining men to a very big field and tell them to run. While they are running, the enemies stand at a distance and shoot arrows at them. Anyone the arrow hits dies immediately. This is where the real fight begins. Jaguar Paw is among the men who are forced to run, and while they are running, one of the enemy's sons tries to kill him. Jaguar Paw uses the opportunity to fight back and kills him. This makes the leader of the enemies very angry because his son has been killed, and he promises that he will not stop until he kills Jaguar Paw.
At the same time, Jaguar Paw's wife and child are still inside the hole where he hid them. His wife is pregnant and close to giving birth, so he is very worried about them. He does not know whether they are still alive or what is happening to them. He wants to escape so he can return to his family, but the enemies continue chasing him and trying to kill him. Jaguar Paw has no choice but to keep fighting for his life.
As Jaguar Paw runs through the forest, he fights anyone who comes after him. He kills many of the enemies while trying to escape, but they refuse to leave him alone. What annoyed me about this part was that so many people were chasing one man, even though they were the ones who started everything by attacking his village and killing innocent people. They wanted revenge simply because he was defending himself. I was surprised that they could send so many people after just one person. But my joy was seeing Jaguar Paw keep defeating them no matter how much pressure they put on him.
He continues fighting until only a few enemies are left. One of the leader's other sons is still determined to kill him. Jaguar Paw fights him and finally defeats him with a bone, hitting him hard in the forehead. Blood starts coming out, and the man dies. When the enemy leader sees his son dead again, his anger becomes even greater.
The enemy leader then sees Jaguar Paw standing at a distance. They look at each other, and Jaguar Paw does not show any fear. The leader picks up his sword and runs towards him with all his anger. When he gets close, Jaguar Paw is still standing there. The leader keeps coming, but Jaguar Paw suddenly moves and uses a weapon he has prepared to attack him directly in the chest. The leader falls and dies, and this finally brings the fight to an end.
Immediately after killing the leader, Jaguar Paw runs straight back to where he hid his family. He is very worried because he thinks they may already be dead. When he gets there, he finds his wife and children alive. His wife has already given birth, but the hole has been filled with water. She is holding the newborn baby above the water so the baby will not drown. They have suffered there for days, but thankfully none of them died. I was very happy to see Jaguar Paw finally reunite with his family after everything he had gone through.
Many innocent people died in the attack, and I really felt sorry for them. But I was happy that Jaguar Paw survived, defeated the enemies who were chasing him and was able to return to his family. For me, the movie showed how far someone can go when they are fighting to survive and protect the people they love. The fighting was intense, and I really enjoyed watching Jaguar Paw keep going even when almost everyone was against him.
