Compliment Of The Season: It's Almost Here Again

Silently the festive season is approaching with speed. It was just like yesterday, when we celebrated Christmas and New Year last year, and here we are, almost there again.

One of the special things for me about the season is “love.” Despite all the dramas of life, despite the distance, family, and friends get connected during the season, either directly or indirectly.

Personally, that's one time in my life that I text almost everyone that holds a place in my heart. It's not supposed to be unique to the season alone but at least it's better than none.

When you go out there, you will see the joy in people's faces regardless of what they are facing, and for children, they make it more memorable.

However, it's sad how things are fast evolving, the fun we used to enjoy during festivities are gradually eroding, being replaced by modernity that I can't tell whether it is making things better or worse.

To be frank, I miss those good old days; life was simple, the cultural dances, the sharing of food and gifts, the safety in the environment and so on.

Today, even during festivities that people ought to go out there and celebrate life forgetting their situation, people are compelled to move with caution due to how unsafe the world is.

Well, I have a few plans for this holiday since it comes with festivities. I plan to go out and see the world. I have been indoors for a very long time.

Almost every year, I spend my Christmas and New Year in the room with movies, I am not complaining but that needs to change. I want to experience the social life too, let me know what it feels like out there.

Visiting friends is something I am definitely going to do, my schedule is tight but there is no harm in making time to spend with them, no matter how small.

I felt terrible when two of my friends came to my place and were complaining about how I don't check up on them anymore.

I didn't realize how disconnected I was becoming with them until they brought the issue up. It's time to find some time to truly connect with people.

I want to enjoy this holiday season, life is not just about hiding away and focusing on money and the rest, we also need some time to simply cool off, reflect on our lives and to re-strategize.

However, we make plans but we can't tell what the future holds; as much as I want to celebrate, rest, reconnect with people and have fun, I can only plan.

Things might change, if an unexpected duty calls, I have no option than to answer. For now, I don't think there is any activity that can disrupt my plans.

I didn't even plan to travel out, and we don't have any family activity that would demand for traveling, so I am definitely having my time to myself.

The only thing that might be of limitations to me is my work, I know I would be so busy that season but I would make time, taking one or two days off from work isn't going to cost me anything.

In conclusion, anything can happen, let's just wait and see what the season brings. I am hoping for the best though.
