In The World Of Complexity

This morning was a bit rough for me, a lot of information flowing in, decision making that is never easy, research and so on, so not it's time to disconnect my brain from all that and travel to another dimension, see some artworks and forget about real life for an hour.

Today I'd like to show you the rest of the photos I took at the solo exhibition of Petre Caprita, a very talented artist with a vision and attention to detail, whose works put your mind and imagination to work.

This masterpiece is called Ancient Journey and even without the title, there are clues letting you know it is connected to ancient times. The particularity of this painting is the overlaid details on the right side. The most important thing here is that the painting is part of a private collection, which means after the exhibition was over, went back to the owner and this was a special occasion to watch it and take a photo as well.

I'd love to own this piece, but I have no proper space for it and I don't think I'm willing to pay the price either 😬

Introspections

This is a very interesting composition with a hidden meaning I think. If you have a proper look at this paining, you can see the honeycomb and the typewriter at the bottom, what instead of letters, has some colorful keys. There's a face at the top too. What can't be missing from these paintings is the numbers. In one of my previous posts from this exhibition you could see a number on each canvas. I'm curious what you see here :)

Tempus Exad Rerum

This is a famous Latin phrase meaning "time, that devours all things" or "time the consumer of things." Two repetitive elements you can find on this painting, that are the numbers and the honeycomb. The numbers are arranged to look like forming a clock, loosely of course. From my perspective, this is a hive and time is what bees need to do their thing, but then again, who knows what the artist meant.

It wasn't a simple painting though :) I love these 3D (kind of) paintings, that contain elements added, not just the paint.

The Wheel of Time

Another one that I'd love to see on my wall. It's a bit strange and complex enough to trigger your thoughts. Obviously the numbers can't be missing.

Time and Money

Yes, most likely you're smiling too as these are the two things everyone needs. Although I don't know if I fully understand the elements on the canvas, the overall aspect is fantastic. If you zoom in, you can see the print of the honeycomb. I suppose the round shaped object in the upper part of the canvas is the clock, which means time, obviously.

I guess my mind is a bit slow today for to deciphering art mysteries, so feel free to help me out here, share your thoughts :)

Inner Sound

This is a tough one, so I'll leave it to you.

The Search For Balance

Another one for you, let's see what you think you see here :)

In The Great Passage

Yes, I keep repeating myself, but I'd love to have this painting too. You need a few minutes to see every detail and then make a decision about what you see, but it's a fantastic one. It's like a big collage with a million details put together forming the concept. As you can see time is represented by numbers, as well as the sundial, and the different silhouettes could symbolize different phase of life.

No matter how strange and unconventional these paintings are, somehow I love them a lot. How about you?

I can assure you that choosing just one piece today is almost impossible, because I find them all marvellous. Somewhere between abstraction and surrealism, this is art that I greatly admire, particularly for the messages conveyed by the works, those numbers weren’t placed at random; they mean something, and the profound significance of every shape, colour and atmosphere.

The typewriter… it seems to be typing out life and the inner self. The piece with the relief is incredible. I find all the pieces that refer to time utterly fascinating. The piece on inner sound, I think, has to do with our vibration and what we attract into our lives, and I believe it’s linked to the pieces that follow. In fact, I think all the pieces form a really interesting series. I have nothing but admiration for these works!!😍

Complexity alone doesn't necessarily create depth. It's the connection between elements and the overall concept that gives a work its power. Personally, I see this work as better in this collection, both in terms of the use of visual elements and their selection in the formal composition, which has been done correctly. It's also significant in terms of color harmony.

  • and the typewriter at the bottom, what instead of letters, has some colorful keys.

Oh. That's a chromatic typewriter, i saw one before in a museum too, it types colors instead of letters. How cool.

Ha, that Ancient Journey piece sounds lovely, the overlaid details on the side must look even better in person. Did the private collection part make it feel more special to see?

Thanks for taking that side photo of the third painting. From the front it looks flat, so seeing how much the 3D pieces stick out was really cool. Were you allowed to touch them at all?

Some of the paintings are phenomenally good!
