Becoming an Orca; The power of consistency and organic growth!

I've registered my account on Hive just over six years ago. I came on Hive in August 2020. I worked hard and became a to Dolphin in October 2022. And now, another four years later, I have finally reached the Orca status! And since I think it's good to celebrate milestones, I made this blog.

Yesterday my amount of Hive Power grew to 62,355, which made me reach a milestone in my Hive journey; I became an Orca. It is cool to see how much an account can grow over time. Especially when most of that growth comes from simply being active on Hive and engage with the community.

The route to Orca

Most of my Hive Power has been accumulated through organic growth. Before I came to Hive I had invested some savings in different crypto coins, which wasn't a real success. That's why I decided not to use my savings for crypto anymore. That also meant that I didn't buy any Hive. My earnings came from the author rewards of my posts. Step by step I have increased my stake instead of cashing it out.

Along the way, I did make a few investments. I used money I earned online through other platforms. Especially Noise.cash was a good sponsor. I also experimented with some games and moved funds between HBD and HIVE to profit from the price swings. So, it was not entirely organic, but I didn't touch my savings account for it.

Not all projects went well. At one point I converted my entire HBD savings into HIVE when the price was around $0.24. I thought that might be close to the bottom, but it turned out to go 'a bit' lower than that. I also got caught by the FOMO and used an amount of Hive to buy CUB tokens (a Leofinance project). That also turned into a disappointment. It cost me quite some Hive. But it was a good lesson I learned.

When Whale?

Mission accomplished, what's next? When Whale? Well, becoming a Whale is a very, very big step. The smallest Whale has a stake of 635,909 HP, which is more than a tenfold of my current stake. Reaching it through organic growth alone would probably take a long time, but I hold on to my decision not to invest any money from my savings in crypto anymore. Let's just continue having fun on Hive and stake the rewards. Then we will see what the coming years will bring.

I hope my story inspires others to keep active on Hive and grow their Hive accounts over time. As you see, you do not need to do financial investments to make progress. Staying active on Hive and staking your rewards is enough.

Congratulations @friendlymoose, I started actually in January 2018 rather than in August 2017 and I made Orca just last month when I decided to swap my chunk of HBD savings into Hive at the fire sale price of $0.04. I made Dolphin back in 2021 when I swapped my stack of Dogecoin into Hive, thanks to Elon. Say, It's much more roomier in the Orca pool. On to bigger goals!

Wow, congratulations on becoming an Orca! I can personally say that it’s not an easy journey. Creating content daily and engaging with other Hive users takes a lot of time and effort. Honestly, it can be mentally exhausting, especially when you have so many posts to read and comment on in a single day. Of course, you need to read and understand other people's posts before leaving a meaningful comment. It takes patience, consistency, and genuine effort to stay active in the community. And now, all your hard work is finally paying off! You truly deserve this achievement. Congratulations again.

Well done that is great as we know how long this all takes. The growth at least does start to speed up the more you have so the next 60K HP should be a little faster.

Ouch! I've seen many swapping Hive to Leo and CUB as it was more profitable at that time. Then we know what happened and why.

Not a big difference in between 60k and 600k you have achieved 60k next is to get 600k. You're consistent and you can get it earlier as well ;) !BBH !GLYPH !PAKX
