We’ve had nothing but gloomy or rainy days all week. Tuesday was no exception and I spent most of the day trying to finish the bills/budget. My helper friend was here and did some chores, cleaning and errands.

My son got a small amount of weedwacking done late afternoon. It’s enough so I can finish the front pasture (which needs to be finished weedwacking) and clean up the mess along this fence in the middle pasture on Friday.
I read or watched videos in the later afternoon until supper and bed around 8PM.
On Wednesday morning, I didn’t have a post to put up, so I finally finished the bills/budget for July and August. Yay me!!
My #1 intern was here and we went to the cellar to see what has to be done for the freezer room. But that’s another post…

The mulch hay guy called and wanted to deliver a load of mulch hay around 9:45AM. So we loaded that into the east end of the stall. Then he said he’d bring another at 11:30AM. These bales were pretty heavy and I moved what I could but he ended up doing the ones to go up high.

The other end of the stall had 4 broken bales, so I got the truck and moved them out.

Most of the 2nd load filled the east end of the stall and we put 3 in the other end. He only loads 20 bales on his short bed. I think it’s a convenient amount and he doesn’t like my puffing from the long covid. He asks most every time if they’ve found anything to treat it.

The stall is filling nicely. I have to move the bales of shavings because I will need them during the winter. I use them in the catbox.
I went back to the house to rest a while and to see if the grass would dry some more. I really had to mow the yard and at the barn and really didn’t want to.
I made some lunch and waited until 1PM and finally dragged myself outside. I had gotten all the hoses up on Monday as I knew I had to mow and so I just had to move the lawn chairs and pick up the apple drops.

Before now the drops had been green and partially eaten but now they were ripening. I tossed the eaten ones across the driveway and brought these inside. I’m going to try to store them for a couple weeks until we get the cider pres out and make cider for drinking and for vinegar.
The mowing took 3½ hours as the grass wasn’t too dry and the chute for the bagger kept plugging up.
I got a shower when I got back and started supper and sat and watched videos until bedtime at 8PM. It’s been cool so the house has stayed shut up and it was to rain during the night also.
On Thursday I have a couple posts to write and I don’t imagine I’ll be moving too fast. My #4 helper comes in the afternoon and she has errands to do and I’m thinking about making tomato soup base to freeze. It’s to be another gloomy day but it’s to get into the low 80’s.
