[Witcher 3] Information recently leaked regarding the remastered version, revealing that the game will feature gameplay aids. The solution resembles the one found in Bethesda games (I’ll give them credit there; for all the things I criticize them for, their idea of fine-tuning the difficulty level perfectly to the player... I have mixed feelings about this: on one hand, I want the game to offer a genuine challenge to all players, but on the other, everyone should be able to play through the game under conditions that suit them best. Lowering game difficulty doesn't help and, to some extent, contributes to ruining the industry—that’s a fact (I remember similar arguments being made decades ago when I was a teenager; there might be something to them). Nevertheless, forcing things doesn't help either. Besides, I’d be a hypocrite, since I like firing up cheats myself sometimes just for fun... And I’d happily turn on "easy mode" in a Dark Souls game, though the Souls fans would scream bloody murder if I did.

Rozwiązanie przypomina to znane np. z gier Bethesdy (to im oddam, tak jak krytykuję ich za wiele rzeczy, tak pomysł na szczegółowe dopasowanie poziomu trudności idealnie pod gracza... Szacun!). Mam tu mieszane uczucia, bo z jednej strony chcę, by gra stanowiła pewne wyzwanie dla wszystkich graczy, ale z drugiej strony, każdy gracz powinien przechodzić grę w dogodnych dla siebie warunkach. Obniżanie poziomu trudności gier nie pomaga i w pewnym stopniu przyczynia się do psucia branży, fakt (pamiętam jak padały podobne argumenty kilkadziesiąt lat temu, gdy byłem nastolatkiem - być może coś w tym jest). Niemniej przymus też nie pomaga. No i byłbym hipokrytą, bo sam lubię czasem odpalić cheaty, by sie pobawić... I chętnie odpaliłym easy mode w jakimś Dark Souls, ale wtedy krzyczeliby fani Soulsów.
Dlatego wracam do uniwersalnego wniosku - gdybyśmy mieli ograniczać wszystko, co szkodliwe, jako ludzie nie robilibyśmy prawie nic.
