The extraordinary architectural design of a museum [ENG-ESP]

Greetings, dear friends at Worldmappin—welcome to my blog. Today I’m back in this wonderful community to share with all of you some incredible photos taken at the Science Museum in Valencia. It’s called the Príncipe Felipe Museum, and it’s enormous—plus, it boasts an impressive architectural structure and design. The truth is that during my walk, we happened to pass through that area—it wasn’t our destination—but as soon as I spotted the museum, I was blown away, so I asked my companions to stop so we could admire its beauty and take some photos.

The design caught my eye, as did the crystal-clear, emerald-green water surrounding it. It was a magical moment to see a little duckling swimming peacefully in those calm waters. To be honest, I would have liked to go inside, but there wasn’t enough time—I think closing time was approaching—and besides, the museum is so large that the idea is to enjoy the tour at a leisurely pace. We agreed to come back another day, pay the admission fee, and take our time exploring the four floors of this magnificent museum—but we never did. Between our itinerary and differing opinions, the days went by, and I never got to fulfill my dream; all I was left with were the memories captured in the photos I took outside, which are definitely worth recreating.

The architecture of this museum is quite unique; from a distance, one of the protruding parts looked to me, at first glance, like a whale’s head. Later, while talking to some visitors about the hours and admission, I learned that there are several buildings within the same complex and that the design of the science museum mimics the skeleton of an animal—such as a dinosaur or a marine species, something like a whale. The structure, which resembles a long spine, mimics the color of bones and seems to float amid those turquoise waters—which are not suitable for navigation; their role is purely scenic and decorative.

The crystal-clear water reflects the extraordinary structure of this marvelous science museum. Since it is located within the Arts and Sciences complex, another round structure can also be seen: the Hemisféric, a sphere-shaped building representing a human eye. This site is dominated by simulations of elements of nature—whether marine or human—fully embodying a biomimetic style in its design.

It's a place that definitely catches your eye just by looking at the outside, so you see a lot of people taking pictures and selfies. I can't even imagine how wonderful it would be to take a tour inside.

That wraps up my trip. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. See you next time.
