It's the end of the month and we are off to wonderland! Kidding😉

We drove out of DD early (6 am), and we are still on the road for an impromptu trip to the capital for some much-needed stuff, and to sort of escape the scares of mudslides. I couldn't calm my nerves in the wee hours last night (2 am) 'coz of the downpour, along with roaring thunder that sounded like an eroding mountainside (my trauma still lingers).
Thankfully, the back of the farm house remained intact and only a small portion of the slope along the greenhouse gave way. So after flushing it with water, we headed out.
Meanwhile along the national highway, some electrical, cable network, and internet posts are seen lying down, including fallen trees (some had to be chainsawed for vehicles to pass through), rocks, boulders and such.

Runoffs are also overflowing with gushing water, bringing loose gravel from the mountainside, some spreading across the roads.
While such is a common sight year on year on every prolonged wet season like we're currently experiencing, it still makes me exclaim "oh my g" and makes me shudder. Nature seems to be really angry this month, the hubby said, as he maneuvered the truck through the dangerous highway.
Desite all the risks, the maintenance men and women still show up, working tirelessly to keep the access roads open, allowing supplies and such reach where they are needed.
People still move—go to work, drive to places, show up where they mustp. Some serve coffee, others make warm meals, provide services and such. Life goes on no matter what.
Most of all, we are keeping the faith and hope for better days, while getting through the rough ones with grace. We pray the ber months treat everyone well.
