Hace unos días vi con mi esposo una película que no me convencía mucho. Se trataba de una película tailandesa llamada "La línea roja", y trataba de algo que es súper común hoy en día. Me gusta mucho cómo la película refleja de forma clara la manera en la que se siente una persona que ha sido estafada. Muestra la situación tan difícil y desesperante de perderlo todo de una manera tan tonta, el arrepentimiento de haber dado información que no debías y el sentirte vulnerable por haber sido vulnerada sin siquiera tenerlos cerca. De algún modo faltaban al respeto a tu seguridad e incluso a tu dignidad humana.
Me sentí identificada con esta situación porque años atrás también pasé por esto. They want you to panic, act without thinking, and give away more information than necessary while someone else quickly jots down that information to access your bank account, leaving you in trouble, with debts, and so on.
I really like how the movie clearly captures how someone who’s been scammed feels. It shows the difficult and desperate situation of losing everything in such a foolish way, the regret of having given out information you shouldn’t have, and the feeling of vulnerability from having been violated without them even being physically near you. In a way, they were disrespecting your safety and even your human dignity.
I could relate to this situation because I went through something similar years ago. Although I didn’t suffer any financial losses, the fact that they had access to my personal information so easily—and made it clear they could log into all my accounts if they wanted to—was a pretty unpleasant feeling. It even kept me awake for several nights, nervous that I might receive an email or notification that someone was trying to log into one of my accounts.

Si bien hay normas y leyes que debemos respetar, cuando se nos arrebata algo que nos ha costado tanto no podemos más que sentirnos frustradas. Sin embargo, cuando además de arrebatarnos algo material nos roban la paz, hacer algo al respecto y luchar por volver a conseguirla pasa a ser lo principal.
También vi que, cuando tenemos el apoyo de personas que nos entienden, todo se siente muchísimo más llevadero. A veces es difícil superar una situación cuando te encuentras en un entorno en el que nadie le da tanta importancia a lo que estás sintiendo. Cuando hay gente a tu alrededor que valida lo que sientes y que además te quiere ayudar a sentirte mejor, eso lo es todo en la vida.
Es una película algo gráfica en las escenas violentas, pero más allá de eso siento que es bastante entretenida y tiene una trama que te mantiene bien atenta a lo que va a ocurrir. Aunque antes no había visto ninguna película con actores tailandeses, siento que estuvo buena. La fotografía te transmite lo que los personajes están experimentando incluso en las partes más intensas, así que es una de esas películas que se pueden ver cuando no consigues qué ver.

On the other hand, it made me think a lot about the desire we all have to reclaim what is ours. While there are rules and laws we must respect, when something we’ve worked so hard for is taken from us, we can’t help but feel frustrated. However, when, in addition to taking something material from us, they rob us of our peace of mind, doing something about it and fighting to regain it becomes the top priority.
I also realized that when we have the support of people who understand us, everything feels so much easier to bear. Sometimes it’s hard to get through a situation when you’re in an environment where no one takes what you’re feeling seriously. When there are people around you who validate your feelings and who also want to help you feel better, that’s what matters most in life.
The film is somewhat graphic in its violent scenes, but beyond that, I think it’s quite entertaining and has a plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat, wondering what’s going to happen next. Although I hadn’t seen any movies with Thai actors before, I thought this one was good. The cinematography conveys what the characters are experiencing even during the most intense moments, so it’s one of those movies you can watch when you’re at a loss for what to watch.
