Caturday

I prefer to celebrate Caturday!

The first week of November hasn’t been great, but it doesn’t compare to the terrible month of October I had. I was thinking of writing one of those soul-cleansing, cathartic posts, but no, not today. Today is Caturday! Everywhere I look, I see beautiful cats doing exactly what I need to do: enjoying the moment and finding inner peace, regardless of everything happening around them. Just look at that gorgeous cat in the first photo, sleeping without a care in the world at one of the entrances to the Caracas Metro, while people rush by, stumble, and glare at each other just a few feet away...

I’ve mentioned a few times in this community that I’m not allowed to have cats where I live, so I’ve sort of become the "uncle" to all the cats belonging to my family and friends, and even to the cats around the city! 😹 But there are moments in life when having a pet would really make a big difference, even when you have a partner or friends... This week, I’ve spent a lot of time hanging out with these little friends, and taking photos of them, too. They simply keep you company in silence; they don’t judge you. And when a cat chooses to approach you, it’s something truly special, especially since they can be quite standoffish when they want to be...

I know exactly where to go when I want to have a special "Caturday"... One of the main spots is near my workplace, right at the entrance to the subway station. There are cats of all shapes, sizes, and colors, though only a few come over to spend some time with me. I occasionally bring them something to eat, and in exchange, I just ask for a few poses for some photos 😹 The other key spot is a popular plaza near my building. The cats there tend to be friendlier toward everyone who passes by, since people come to the plaza to relax, they aren't as stressed as the commuters using the subway.

JACINTO

This last cat is truly popular... Meet Jacinto, the cat from the Teresa Carreño Theater. If you click on his name, you can watch a fun video that the theater’s official Instagram account posted a few hours ago. I think he’s the most laid-back of all the cats I’ve shared with you today. Jacinto keeps us company while we wait for concerts to begin, or perhaps during intermissions, when the rest of us are busy and focused on our work. He simply sprawls out on the chairs or tables where we’d all love to be resting; without any effort, and without ever chasing anyone, he receives affection from musicians, dancers, actors, and even famous people who happen to pass through this courtyard near the dressing rooms, his favorite spot... I only wish that we artists received the same love from our fellow artists that Jacinto gets from them, but, alas, that’s not the case. That’s the beauty of being a gorgeous, chubby, and relaxed cat, while everyone else celebrates his existence on Caturday! 😹

They are soooooo cute 😍🤩🌟💃, watching cats could be really entertaining so I know you had fun watching them. I do that a lot with our own cats. But if you've given a chance and can finally have a pet to where u love, would u adopt one?

    Good day, dear friend @jesuslnrs.

I am very sorry for what you are going through. I hope that better days come your way soon. You are doing the right thing by focusing on and enjoying the present moment to find the inner peace you long for.

It’s a pity that you can’t have a pet of your own where you live; at least you can be an "uncle" to many others.

It’s wonderful that you’ve discovered this place—it’s like paradise for cats!

The shots you managed to take of Jacinto are lovely; I adore how he poses for the camera.

Have a beautiful weekend; sending hugs to all your loved ones.
