Like my last update, I have found myself with some free time during the day, so I have been playing a bit more than usual. I still want to get that max cape by maxing out all of my skills, and I have slowly started to chip away at most of my skills. Additionally, I have managed to get one more agility level, so that makes my base stats 89, and I reached 2,324 total level. That is only 59 levels to go, and I also got 99 Mining. Only 52 levels to go, and I am slowly moving those skills closer.
Slayer and Bossing
I didn't do that much bossing this time around, as I wanted to clear my tasks in order to try out the new Slayer Master. I'll see how things go there before deciding which Slayer Master I want to stick with.
Araxxor
Araxxor is a slayer-only boss, and I got one of these boss tasks this time. I have always been doing the small versions because I got wrecked the first time I fought this boss in the past. I decided to just go learn it this time around, but I did die twice as I was trying to learn the step under strategy during the enrage phase. I would say that I probably broke even, as I didn't get any uniques this time around. I'll try for the combat achievements in the future when I am more comfortable with the boss.
Skilling
I worked on a bunch of skills, but there were three that I focused on: Sailing, Agility, Runecraft, and Smithing. For Smithing, I found that there can be some profit from smithing dragon metal sheets into nails, but it depends on the current prices. When the prices are stable, I will go there and collect some easy profits.
Runecrafting
I did quite a few hours of Guardians of the Rift in an attempt to get that Abyssal Lantern. It has a drop rate of 1/700, so I am over 1.5x the drop rate. I'm dry on it, but there isn't much I can do about that. I'll be doing an hour or two of this minigame per day, and I kind of want that lantern before going back to Zeah blood runes.
Agility
I have been trying for at least 1 agility level per update, but that will break at some point. This week I did 50 runs of the Hallowed Sepulchre, and got quite a bit of agility experience. The drop rate of the ring is 1/200, so I am almost halfway to the drop rate here. It's been fun, and I find myself clearing floor 4 and 5 chests without too much pressure. At the same time, its good experience even if it requires quite a bit of focus.
Sailing
I just find Sailing to be relaxing as I don't have to pay much attention, and it earns me some GP. I am at 99 Sailing now, but I plan to continue doing this, and I am not sure if I should try to afk the deep sea trawling fish. I have also been arbitraging Dragon Metal Sheets and Dragon nails after checking the prices, and it's some nice easy profit. However, prices of dragon metal sheets are dropping fast, so I have to be careful to dump my nails in a timely manner. So I have decided to delay upgrading my Sailing Ships because it will be cheaper later down the line.
Conclusion and my plans
It's been great progress on my account as I got a ton of XP, and I had a bit more free time than I expected. There was less Slayer this week, but it was great progress regardless. I do have to keep my focus on Slayer next week because that skill can be quite slow if I don't pay attention. I have also started stacking up prayer experience, so I just need to max sure that I am getting some agility experience every day. At some point, I'll have to focus more on the other skills that are lagging a bit too.
Do you play Old School Runescape? What did you like most about it, and did you have any goals?
