IN A NEIGHBORHOOD CALLED "EL CALVARIO" - (PHOTOGRAPHY SERIES)

Tcats.jpg

The neighborhood called "El Calvario" (TheCalvary) is named so because it's at the foot of a hill where some crosses stand. But these photos I'm sharing with you today don't reach that hill; they only show the streets that make up that neighborhood... And this is a simple place, one of the humblest in town, I'd say, but for me it's full of memories, and I think that's why I often come to wander its streets in the mornings... In fact, almost half a century ago, I was already walking some of these streets, which were dirt roads then, not paved like they are now, and I used to play here in the afternoons with some of my schoolmates; We flew kites, played marbles, raced on rickety bikes, and, of course, got into huge scuffles until we were exhausted and had a black eye or two 😂... Back then, there weren't that many houses, and some yards were bordered by rows of cacti or other thorny plants, so our balls (almost always the cheapest ones) usually got deflated when they hit those plants 😂... There weren't that many houses either, and the neighborhood looked more like a small rural hamlet... Today it looks very different, but my memories are still there, as are some of my friends and their families... Walking around the streets taking photos in the town where I've always lived definitely makes me go back in time from time to time...
