The past few days, or rather the past few weeks, have been quite challenging. On the one hand, there's the weather, which hasn't been typical for this time of year. We can have a beautiful day with clear skies and a cool breeze, and then a sudden, unusually violent storm followed by temperatures that can exceed 36°C along with very high humidity. And if the weather weren't enough, there's also the fact that I'm still recovering from some health problems related to heatstroke... For these reasons and more, I woke up early today and, after a light breakfast, went for a walk in the countryside surrounding the town with my camera slung around my neck... I simply wanted to walk without having to think too much, and that's exactly what I did...
To be honest, I'm fortunate enough not to have to walk far to be immersed in the places you see in the photos in this post. Truth be told, just about 800 meters from my house, the town ends abruptly and the countryside begins... The first thing I encounter is a narrow stream (once quite powerful) surrounded by a lovely riverside forest with a few narrow paths that allow you to walk alongside the river. Then, when the forest ends—which isn't very wide, really—pastureland begins, and from the main road (a dirt track, not very wide, but wide enough for four-wheel-drive vehicles) you can appreciate the landscape with the mountains rising up around the valley...
This place is part of everything that, as a child (almost half a century ago, by the way), I liked to call "my other backyard," because I would sneak out of the house to come to the woods, play in the river, and wander along the dirt paths when I was just a little boy of 7 or 8 years old... Back then there were fewer fences, the river was fuller and cleaner, and you could even find women washing clothes in its waters. The weather was also more pleasant then, but in general, the place is still beautiful and ideal for relaxing with a walk amidst nature and the countryside...
These days, when I visit these places, I think of it as "my everyday space," because it's still so easy for me to come here and spend a pleasant time walking around, relaxing, taking in the scenery, listening to the wind, and breathing in the invigorating fresh air...
Thank you very much for your visit and appreciation!
¡Muchas gracias por pasar y apreciar!
