This microfiction story is for the prompt "Found it in the canal". I don't know about you, but I find the strangest items sometimes in places where they shouldn't be. I wonder how and why they arrived there. However, some things are truly out of place in certain environments that can cause danger. I'm reminded of a news report where an alligator was discovered in a suburban neighbor. It was resting in a resident's back yard. Luckily, none of the family was injured. Sometimes when you hear dogs barking, they may be sounding an alarm. I share a flash fiction story along those lines. A ZAPFIC50 story is told in exactly 50 words. Below is my story.
"Where did you find that weird thing?" Anita squealed. "Don't touch me after handling it!" she yelled!
"Found it in the local canal," marine biologist Michael answered. "Just a reptile I've never encountered.
"Well, you'd better research that. Could be an undiscovered, dangerous invasive species."
Anita's initial assessment was correct.

Me pregunto cómo y por qué han llegado allí. Sin embargo, hay cosas que están totalmente fuera de lugar en determinados entornos y que pueden suponer un peligro. Me viene a la mente una noticia en la que se descubrió un caimán en un barrio residencial. Estaba descansando en el jardín trasero de una vivienda.
