Over the last few weeks the Hive telegram group has grown to over 1200 people (https://t.me/hiveblockchain).
And while in the past these sorts of chat platforms have been used by users already here to interact and have fun, most of the conversations in the telegram are from new individuals or people looking into the project for the first time.
This means that 24hrs a day there are questions being asked.. and we only have a few active Admins. This is a volunteer position and no pay is allocated.
While the repetitive nature of these questions are not fun in the slightest, I feel this could be a good tool for Hive.. at least for now.
So I am asking for community members who feel confident in their ability to answer questions about the project as well as direct users to where they can find correct information, to possibly volunteer a bit of your time. Perhaps if we get enough individuals to help, it won’t be such a task.
Many questions are about price and aspects that are trading etc, and we try to direct them to the right channels for that. Some are asking how to set up an account, how to use a wallet, or even just what Hive is and how it started.
It could be also helpful to gather relevant documents and set up a pinned message to include users guide etc, to easily direct them as well.. but most of this is some babysitting and making sure people aren’t jerks 🙂
How you can help
- If you want to be an admin hop into the telegram channel (https://t.me/hiveblockchain) and tag or dm me (@justineontheblock). I will only be assigning the role to those I feel confident can answer questions.
- Help manage a channel in your native language. We have encouraged community members to make their own hive telegram chat in their native language if they see a need for them. We don’t have the manpower or capability to oversee these as well, so even an extra set of eyes in them would be beneficial.
- Help gather relevant tutorials etc. There are many tutorials that were Steem related that still work for Hive. We should probably redo those, but until then we can use these tutorials as well. If someone wanted to gather information into a type of users guide, that would be helpful. Or perhaps just grab links and we can put them in one spot.
- We have a current pinned message, but it could probably be improved upon.

Rules This group is an open communication forum for all things Hive related. Any disrespectful, hateful or trolling speech is unwelcome and could result in banning. If you are only in the chat to spam it with “when binance” and never actually listen to the information given to you, you may be removed from the group.
This is a place for the community to come together and have fun, as well as be a good resource for information.

If you want to work on a better pinned message, perhaps including links for tutorials, that would be great. Feel free to leave a comment below if you just update a few things. If you make a whole intense users guide, make a post and tag me - I’ll try to reward you for your work.
We can only pin one message, so it needs to cover a lot of things.
Personally I hope to eventually have a place on chain to replace such a platform but telegram is widely used in the crypto space and therefore provides an ability to reach some users.
