Happy Tuesday Hivers!
Those who have been following me surely know that I often share updates about transplanting seedlings, showing how our plants grow and produce fruits, and even sharing our harvests. This time, I want to take you on a little tour of our growing garden. Come along!
Our garden is located right along the road, just a few meters away from our house. This makes it easy for us to visit and take care of our plants whenever we want because it's nearby and easily accessible.
As you enter our garden, you'll be greeted by different kinds of flowers. Although we don't have that many yet, there are definitely more now than when we first started our garden. It's nice to see how much it has grown over time, one plant at a time.
On the other side, we have two garden beds. One is planted with watermelon and melon, while the other is still a work in progress because we ran out of soil. Beside these garden beds, we also have long peppers and spring onions growing.
We also have a nursery area where we keep our seedlings until they are ready to be transplanted. This area is actually intended for growing lettuce, but for now, we've temporarily stopped planting it. The last two batches we harvested turned out to be very bitter, so we're taking a break from growing lettuce for the time being.
In the lower part of our garden, we have our pak choi, bell peppers, and tomatoes growing. On the opposite side, we have sweet potatoes, with our eggplants planted just below them. We actually planned to grow more eggplants, but we ran short of seedlings, so maybe we can add more next time.
Beside the sweet potatoes, we also have lady's fingers, or okra, growing. Just like the eggplants, we planned to plant more of them, but we ran short of seedlings again. Maybe we'll be able to fill the remaining space with more plants next time!
We also have climbing plants like winged beans, string beans, and cucumbers growing along our cyclone fence. My mother joked that when they start bearing fruit, other people might be the ones to harvest them because the fruits will be within easy reach from the outside. My mom just smiled at the thought.
At the far end of our garden, we have lemongrass growing. We really love having lemongrass because it adds a wonderful aroma to the dishes we cook. Its fresh, citrusy scent makes our food even more delicious!
Beside our lemongrass, we have a trellis where our bottle gourd and squash plants have started climbing. Although there is still plenty of space in our garden for more plants, we're happy that we've managed to grow quite a variety this time.
Gardening can be tiring, especially when you have to spend time caring for the plants, but seeing them grow bigger and eventually produce fruits brings such a wonderful feeling of happiness. I hope you enjoyed the little tour of our growing garden!
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
