I'm from the part of the world where we get too serious about things, and we can't help it because that "seriousness" is born from what has happened. Sometimes, I feel we are adopting a lot of the foreign style, where the intention behind the way people dress in that part of the world is very different from how it is perceived in my part of the world.

Does clothing cause bad intentions, or is it a reflection of one's mindset?

From the African part of the world, especially Nigeria, where I come from, clothing is a reflection of one's mindset.

As I know it, there are clothes made for different occasions, such as the ones to be worn within the house, the ones to be worn at night, the ones to be worn to parties, clubbing, and so on. We know these things so well, but most of the time, people intentionally switch them around and casually claim that they mean nothing by it, whether the intention is good or bad. They just want to look good, and they also associate these clothes with how they are worn in foreign countries, where they can be worn with ease and without any particular intention attached to them.

I'm saying this because I fellowship in a very big church where, by standard, everyone is welcome, and we experience the issue of indecent dressing all the time. I'm an usher in the church, and according to our codes of operation, there are certain angles where we can't allow indecently dressed ladies to sit in order not to get their "dangerous" outfits overly exposed and cause trouble for the opposite sêx around the area. Most times, these ladies would wear clothing that is meant for nightclubs to church, and their sensitive parts would be exposed to a large extent.

As much as these ladies claim that they don't mean anything by wearing such outfits to church, I believe it is totally wrong because, somehow, their intention is to announce to the world that they are "hot," and by doing so, a lot of things go on in the minds of the opposite sex when they see them.

I know that, after the main purpose of clothes, which is covering the body, the next purpose is to look beautiful and good, which is not a bad thing. But when other intentions are added, people go to extra lengths to displace these clothes from their rightful places of use.
