At first, I didn't have much faith in this anime, but I have to say that the first episode flew by because, honestly, it was really good. The first episode starts with Akira Yagami (what an interesting name), who works in an office and is in charge of a group of people. At the end of his shift, Akira is about to cross the street when he notices a truck about to run over a child, so he does everything he can to prevent the child from being hit. Akira saves the child but can’t stop the truck from running him over. Akira dies in the accident but is reincarnated in another world as a goblin.
So Akira finds himself in this new world, where he retains his memories of life on Earth, as well as his skills and knowledge. But, as you might expect, the reality check is immense—knowing that he has died and being surrounded by goblins makes everything feel strange, and for good reason.
Little by little, Akira is getting used to the goblins’ way of life. What makes it interesting is that goblins have a life expectancy of just seven days, so they have to do everything very quickly because they have no time to waste. However, upon being reborn in this new world, Akira inherited the “Octogenarian” ability, which means he’ll live for at least eighty years. This gives him an advantage over the other goblins, who can barely live a week. Akira begins to inherit the abilities of the goblins as they die, so he ends up with an absurd number of abilities.
Due to a misunderstanding, a goblin ends up killing a human. Here I’ll digress to mention that the goblins live in the forest, somewhat isolated from the other tribes. Because of this incident, the humans seek to punish the goblin village, which they intend to raze to the ground; the humans plan to punish all the goblins. So Akira, who is quite astute, tries to negotiate with the humans, but they, blinded by anger, seek only revenge.
Since Akira has inherited so many abilities, he begins to use them against the group that wants to wipe out the village. Akira ends up defeating all the humans. But this is something I liked about Akira’s character: he comes across as fair and wise. After his victory, he negotiated a just solution to end the conflict. He agreed with the leader of the human troops that the goblin he had killed would spend seven days in confinement—which, in practical terms, amounts to a life sentence. The human leader initially accepts the terms, and the murderous goblin ends up dying in confinement.
However, the squad leader’s boss isn’t happy with this, so she asks him to send Akira to persuade this person; otherwise, the village could fall victim to another attempted raid by humans. Akira agrees to go negotiate with this person and leaves with the leader of the humans. And that’s how the episode ends.
I really liked this episode because, beyond the classic isekai elements, Akira strikes me as a very interesting character—he doesn’t seek to be the leader of anything; it’s circumstances and his own abilities that have led him to become the village leader. Akira isn’t seeking fame or recognition; what he seeks is the survival of his new species.
So, beyond the typical isekai, it’s a story about politics and how a politician should lead his people—which is why the first episode of Tensei Goblin dakedo Shitsumon Aru? is, in my opinion, a treatise on politics.

Al principio no tenia mucha fe en este anime pero debo decir que el primer episodio se me paso rapidisimo porque la verdad es que estuvo muy bueno. El primer episodio arranca con Akira Yagami (curioso nombre) quien trabaja en una oficina y está a cargo de un grupo de personas. Al terminar el turno de trabajo, Akira va a cruzar la calle cuando en eso nota que un camion va atropellar a un niño, por lo que Akira hace todo lo posible por evitar que el niño sea atropellado. Akira salva al niño pero no puede evitar que el camion lo atropelle a él, Akira muere en el accidente, pero reencarna en otro mundo como un goblin.
Asi pues Akira va a este nuevo mundo en donde conserva los recuerdo de cuando estaba en la tierra, conserva sus habilidades y conocimientos, pero como es de esperar, el choque de realidad es tremendo, saber que ha muerto y estar rodeado de goblins hace que todo se sienta extraño y no es para menos.
Poco a poco Akira se va acostumbrando al estilo de vida de los goblins, lo que hace interesante es que los goblins tienen una esperanza de vida de apenas siete dias, por lo que los goblins tienen que hacer todo muy rapido pues no tienen tiempo que perder, sin embargo, al renacer en este nuevo mundo Akira heredo la habilidad "Octogenario" por lo que va a vivir al menos ochenta años. Lo que supone una ventaja sobre los otros goblins quienes apenas puedn vivir una semana, Akira empieza a heredar las habilidades de los goblins que van muriendo por lo que se llena de una cantidad absurda de habilidades.
Debido a un mal entendido un goblin termina matando a un humano. Acá hago un parentesis y digo que los goblins viven en el bosque, un poco alejados de las demas tribus, debido a este incidente los humanos buscan castigar la aldea de los goblins a quienes piensan arrasar por este incidente, los humanos pretendian castigar a todos los goblins. Por lo que Akira quien es una persona bien astuta intenta dialogar con los humanos, pero estos cegados por el enojo solo buscan venganza.
Debido a que Akira ha heredado tantas habilidades las comienza a usar en contra del grupo que quieren barrer con la aldea. Akira termina derrotando a todos los humanos. Pero esto es algo que me gusto del personaje de Akira y es que se ve que es alguien que es justo y sabio, pues luego de derrotar discutio una solucion justa para ponerle fin al conflicto, asi pues negoció con la lider de las tropas de los humanos, que el goblin que asesinó, pasase siete dias encerrado, lo que en terminos practicos es una cadena perpetua. La lider de los humanos en principio acepta los terminos, el goblin asesino termina muriendo encerrado.
No obstante, el jefe de la lider del peloton no esta contento con esto, a lo que ella le pide que Akira vaya a persuadir a esta persona, de lo contrario la aldea podria ser victima de un nuevo intento de asalto de nuevos humanos. A lo que Akira accede a ir a negociar con esta persona y se marcha con la lider de los humanos. Y asi termina el episodio.
Me ha gustado bastante este episodio, pues mas alla que hay elementos clasicos de los isekais, Akira se me hace un personaje muy interesante, pues no busca ser el lider de nada, son las circunstancias y sus propias habildades que lo han llevado a ser el lider de la aldea. Akira no busca fama o reconocimiento, lo que busca es la supervivencia de su nueva especie.
Por lo que nos muestra mas alla del tipico Isekai, es una obra sobre politica y como un politico deberia dirigir a su pueblo, asi que pues el primer episodio de Tensei Goblin dakedo Shitsumon Aru? es un tratado de politica. A mi parecer.
