The Recovery of Philo

Hello all, This post is about the recovery of our beloved large split leaf Philodendron Selloum (Tree Philo). From my former post that showed the Florida freeze damage, this shows amazing recovery (at least in my book).

Just for an easy reference, if you don't click the full link above to see the previous damage, here is one of the "After Freeze" pics.

Needless to say I am overjoyed that "Phil" was able to recover and coming back strong. I think another month will be back to his old monster size self.

Other garden growth going well. More pics of the colorful flowers coming soon! How is your garden doing? Have other areas started their spring? We're already into summer with temps over 93 F today.

Nice, so it didn't die completly. If the frost is only short and not too severe, many plants can manage to do a come back. Otherwise they would have died out long ago, I guess.

Amazing how resilient nature can be. Sometimes you need to prune plants back drastically to let them grow back beautifully again. And in this case it surely worked. Good job!

Phil’s got that tenacious green glow back, no wonder you’re smiling.

"Phil" had healthy roots and therefore came back in full force. I hope nothing bad happens to it and you will enjoy its beauty

Good old Phil!!! It survived your hacking pruning, and the winter 💪 it looks born again like a young lad!

Oh wow, that is much better than you were expecting. It looks great! Maybe not quite as full as it was, but it will get there!
