One of the lessons life has been teaching me, especially in recent times, is patience and consistency. I won't pretend that I have mastered either of them. I'm still learning.
There are days I wake up and honestly, I don't feel like doing anything. I just lie there thinking about my life, the things I have prayed about, the things I have been working on, and the things that don't seem to be changing.
Sometimes I ask myself, “When will this season be over?” And there are moments when I talk to God about it too, not always with big prayers or fancy words. Sometimes it is just a simple, “God, I am tired. I don't understand what is happening. When will things get better?”
I think we all have moments like that. We see people moving forward with their lives, achieving things, starting families, building businesses, getting opportunities, and sometimes we can't help but wonder if we are being left behind.
I have had those moments. But one thing I am slowly beginning to understand is that everybody's journey is different.
Just because something hasn't happened for me yet doesn't mean it won't happen. And just because I can't see anything changing doesn't mean that nothing is happening.
That has been one of the hardest things for me to accept. I want to see results, I want to know that my efforts are actually going somewhere, I want to know that the prayers I have been praying are not falling on deaf ears.
But maybe some things simply take time. Maybe some seasons are not about getting everything we want, Maybe they are also about becoming the person who can handle what we are praying for.
So these days, I am learning to take things one day at a time. If all I can do today is take one small step, then I will take it, If I need to rest, I will rest, If I fail, then I will try again and If I don't have all the answers, I will keep moving anyway.
I am learning that consistency doesn't always look impressive. Sometimes consistency is simply getting up the next morning and trying again when yesterday didn't go the way you wanted.
Sometimes it is continuing to pray when you are tired of praying, it is believing again after disappointment and sometimes it is just refusing to completely give up on yourself.
I don't know how long every season will last, none of us really does but I believe God sees the things we don't see. He sees the tears, the quiet prayers, the effort, the disappointments, and even the days when we feel like we are not making progress.
So, if you are also in a season where you feel stuck or left behind, I just want to say this, take a breath, don't be too hard on yourself.
Your journey may not look the way you imagined it would, but that doesn't mean your story is over. Keep going, keep trusting God, keep doing what you can with what you have and be patient with yourself.
Sometimes we are so focused on the destination that we don't notice how much we are changing along the way. Maybe that is part of the journey too.
I am still learning, still praying, still trying, still trusting and for now, I think that is enough.
Thank for checking on my post and have a wonderful day
