WHY CONSISTENCY MATTERS MORE THAN MOTIVATION

I have come to realise that motivation is not something we can always depend on. There are days when I wake up feeling ready to get things done. I feel excited, focused, and determined to work towards my goals. But there are also days when I just don't feel like doing anything. I get tired, distracted, or I start telling myself, "I'll do it later." And sometimes, later never comes.

This is one of the reasons I believe consistency is more important than motivation.

Motivation is great because it can give us the energy to start something. The problem is that it comes and goes. We cannot expect to feel motivated every single day. Consistency, on the other hand, is about doing what needs to be done even when we don't really feel like doing it.

There are really a lots of things I need to be consistent with. There are times when I did what I need to do really well and feel proud of myself. I make plans, set goals, and tell myself that I am going to stay on track. But after a few days, things can change. I may get busy with other things, spend too much time on my phone, or simply feel tired. Before I know it, I have postponed something that I should have done earlier.

I think one of the biggest things that makes me lose motivation is feeling overwhelmed. When I look at everything I need to do at once, it can feel like too much. Instead of starting with one thing, I sometimes keep thinking about everything that needs to be done. That can make me lose the motivation to start in the first place.

I am learning that I don't always have to do a lot at once. Sometimes, doing a little is better than doing nothing. If I tell myself that I only need to do this for now, I think it will feels much easier to begin. After I'm done with that, I may decide to continue if I still have the energy. The important thing is that I started.

I also want to stop waiting until I feel motivated before doing something. If I make something part of my daily routine, it can become a habit. I don't have to spend so much time thinking about whether I feel like doing it or not. I just do it because it is part of what I have decided to do.

Of course, being consistent doesn't mean that I will never have bad days. There will always be days when I fall behind or don't do as much as I planned. I think the important thing is not to let one bad day turn into a bad week or even give up completely. I can simply start again the next day.

For me, consistency is about understanding that small efforts still count. I may not see a big difference after one day or even one week, but if I keep going, those small efforts can eventually add up to something meaningful.

Motivation can help me start, but consistency is what can help me finish. I don't need to feel motivated every day. I just need to keep showing up, take things one step at a time, and remind myself why I started in the first place.

Thanks for checking on my blog and have a wonderful day
