Internationally, people wanted to experience the landmark. It's a massive compound, ancient and impressive. It's one of those places which memories will linger and makes you question our current civilization. The experience is definitely humbling but somewhere, just around the main Borobudur complex, you can wander through its village which boasts another story.
Prior this, I also didn't know this that actually Borobudur is an entire living landscape. It stretches across quite a few kilometers with the mountain range as the backdrop. After experiencing this myself, this is what I would recommend to anyone visiting the area or planning a Borobudur trip, take the VW excursion trip.
The excursion trip using VW will get you some glimpse of life around borobudur and it will also take you around the area. It will take you to some amazing view around the villages nearby. Then, you can stop by at one of the cafes around it.
We stopped by at a cafe which also has a Javanese style architecture surrounding it. We had breakfast there and explored the surrounding area with the VW. The breakfast served at this place was quite humble.
To be fair, I've almost forgotten I had this excursion trip despite it happened just over last month. These days, I travel to so many places that it becomes a little too usual and not extraordinary. Oh and when it comes to the car, they have plenty color options that you might like.
I would recommend taking this excursion trip because you can also request where to go but at the time, our route was a little unique than other normal routes. It's quite affordable as well that if you split the cost with 4 or 3 people. I put the place of the starting point of this VW tour.
Unfortunately, while I took many pictures throughout the journey, some of the pictures were gone and I couldn't find it. To be fair, this is also one of the trip, I wanted to restart again because the people who were with us sort of ruined the experience. It left a sour note to what supposedly an amazing trip. It's why I hate going around with big groups because there will always be that one person who sours the trip. So yeah, be careful whomever you go with and travel around.
