Inspired by @ruffatotmeee's walk through her neighborhood, I wanted to share some of my recent experience exploring parts of Tasikmalaya through walking. In my current job, some of the responsibilities I have to do is to collect data of the planted trees and building in the impacted area. Just so happens, the location is nestled underneath Mt. Galunggung which makes the region quite charming on its own way.
The weather can be quite cold during the evening but still quite pleasant. Though during the day, it gets extremely hot and makes it quite challenging to actually work in the field. But it's the risk and we get paid for it. So all we have to do including myself is just walk through it.
Through that 7 days, we walked through fields that looked like this. It's dry season and it's why the field isn't being worked on. It's simply empty vast field and in the future, this area perhaps could be the main road. The mountain can be seen through this picture and when we were there, typically, it wasn't always a sunny day.
In some of the field visits, I get to see this fungi around the field. It was such an experience because I rarely step out of my chair and home to be able to be in the field. Though still, I don't know why it's hard for me to lose the weight 😄
This is also the reason why I rarely post during site visit. It is already quite exhausting. There's also interesting area during my walk that I walked across was this volcanic stones around this area. Apparently, this exact site used to be a small hill which people now use as a source for sand mining.
You can already tell from the picture that there's little to none clouds that shade us. This looked like walking an ancient/stone era place. So, I actually think that this could be a tourist spot on its own if it's well-developed.
In case you're wondering why the date is different, that is because it is taken across different time. I walked a lot during the last 7 days but unfortunately, nothing was truly done well and I am now going back home having a bit more headache. Yet the view of the surrounding area is truly unmatched. This one was one of those best experiences so far.
I feel like whenever I do onsite visit, I always get to see beautiful places and walking through it. Maybe, for some of my co-workers these are usual but for me, it's not something I get to experience everyday.
Now that I get to see where I walked around, I feel so blessed to have been exploring this nook and crannies of Indonesia. I have more stories to tell but for now, this walk through the field is one that gets my attention and something that can be used as a prelude to my other stories from Tasikmalaya.
