If you knew today was your last day on earth, what would you do? Most of the time, people ask themselves this question. However, it seems to me that this is wrong, and the way the question is phrased is itself flawed. Mainly because the mind goes into alert and danger mode. Believe it or not, we lie to protect ourselves. On the other hand, “the last day” makes us uncomfortable. I could list many reasons why we lie when answering this question.
In my journey through life, I’ve observed that human beings are, by nature, pathological liars when it comes to protecting themselves—this is a deeply ingrained impulse and instinct. On the other hand, most people have no vision of where they’re headed. Nor do they have any idea why the hell they came to planet Earth, and they tend to live day to day on autopilot, just going with the flow. From school onward, we’re taught that we come to this planet to be born, grow up, work, get married, and have children. But sometimes I wonder:
Where are our dreams?
We don’t know what tomorrow will bring, and the future may hold events that could shake our world and suddenly change the way we view life. From my perspective, we must live life to the fullest, take responsibility for our lives, dream, stop pretending to be something we’re not, and be happy. I want to emphasize that even at my age, I feel young, cheerful, optimistic, and full of plans for the future.
If we don’t know what the future holds, instead of asking ourselves so many questions, I think we should just live and do the things we enjoy. The important thing is to stay active. In my case, I do a lot of things: crafts, sewing, listening to music, dancing by myself, and staying connected with my loved ones on WhatsApp. I also get into “cleaning mode” to keep my little house clean and tidy. OMG! I almost forgot: I enjoy watching TV, series, and soap operas.

That’s what Grandma Bertita used to say when I misbehaved—which was almost always. I’m way too restless and anxious. I’m a huge fan of anything to do with love and passion—two ingredients that make the world go round. Reciprocal love and that crazy, wild passion that brings out the monster inside every human being. Oh my gosh! My sister @dorytagil2022 says this whenever something strange, terrible, and inexplicable happens:
-“If they put this in a soap opera, we’d say it’s over the top.”
Friends of #Music, life is sometimes over-the-top and inexplicable, and before we know it, we become the protagonists of soap operas. Well, life is a romantic soap opera; some laugh and others cry. Every situation is different, and believe it or not, we’re immersed in this story of love and pain. But it’s always accompanied by music, and only you decide the melody.
Speaking of soap operas, over time they’ve taken a new turn and tackle topics that were once taboo and considered out of the ordinary. To attract the audience, but there are always those old soap operas we loved so much that they’re rerun every now and then—and there’s Paraulata, enjoying them all over again, such as “Amor Real,” “Corazón Salvaje,” “Pasión,” “Rubí,” “Soy tu Dueña,” among others.
To share with @ablaze and #ThreeTuneTuesday, I’m bringing you three main themes from telenovelas.

Si supieras que hoy es tu último día en la tierra, ¿Qué harías?, la mayoría de las veces los seres humanos se hacen esta pregunta.
Sin embargo me parece que esta mal y la manera de hacer la pregunta y en sí misma es errónea. Principalmente porque la mente entra en el modo alerta y de peligro. Aunque no lo crean, mentimos para protegernos. Por otro lado, “el último día” nos incomoda. Pudiese enumerar muchas causas de mentir al responder esta pregunta. En mi camino por la vida he verificado que los seres humanos son por naturaleza mitómanos para protegerse, esto es un estímulo e instinto mucho arraigado. Por otro lado, la mayoría no tiene una visión ni a donde se dirige. Ni a qué carajo vino al planeta tierra y tienden a vivir el día a día de manera automática y dejándose llevar. Desde la escuela se inculca que se viene a este planeta a nacer, crecer, trabajar, casarse y multiplicarse. Pero a veces me pregunto: ¿Dónde quedan nuestros sueños? No conocemos el mañana y el futuro puede traer eventos que que pueden tambalear nuestro mundo y cambiar de repente nuestra manera de ver la vida. Desde mi punto de vista, hay que vivir intensamente, asumir con responsabilidad la vida, soñar, dejar de demostrar lo que no somos y ser felices. Destaco que aun a mi edad me siento joven, alegre, optimista y con proyectos de vida. Si no conocemos el futuro, en lugar de hacernos tantas preguntas, creo que hay que vivir y hacer las cosas que nos gustan. Lo importante es estar activas. En mi caso hago muchas cosas: manualidades, costura, escucho música, bailo sola y permanezco conectada al wasap con mis seres queridos. También me pongo “modo cachifa” para tener la casita limpia y arreglada. ¡OMG! Se me olvidaba: disfruto de la televisión, viendo series y telenovelas. ¡Muchachita, esta! Como decía abuelita Bertita’s cuando me portaba mal, que era casi siempre. Soy demasiado intranquila y ansiosa. Soy fan de todo de lo que trata el amor y la pasión, dos ingredientes que mueven al mundo. El amor correspondido y la pasión loca y descabellada que hace que el ser humano aflore al monstruo que lleva dentro. ¡Ay, mamá! Mi hermana @dorytagil2022, dice cuando sucede algo raro y terrible y que no se puede explicar: -“Si esto lo ponen en una telenovelas, decimos que exagerados” Amigos de #Music, la vida a veces es exagerada e inexplicable y sin darnos cuenta nos convertimos en protagonistas de telenovelas. Pues, la vida es una telenovela rosa; unos ríen y otros lloran. Hay casos de caso, y aunque no lo crean vivimos inmersos en esta novela de amor y dolor. Pero, siempre esta acompañada de música y solo tu decides la melodía. Hablando de telenovelas estas con el trascurrir del tiempo han dado un giro y plantean temas que antes eran tabúes y paradigmas. Para atraer al publico, pero siempre hay telenovelas viejitas que nos gustaron mucho y las repten un ay otra vez y allí esta Paraulata disfrutando otra vez de ellas, tales como “Amor Real”, “Corazón Salvaje”, “Pasión”, “Rubí”, “Soy tu Dueña”, entre otras. It began with a Mexican telenovela called “Amores verdaderos,” whose plot sparked a lot of talk. But only someone who has never loved can criticize, because when you love, there’s no other path but to love intensely—even if the world comes crashing down. What my friend Paraulata liked most about this telenovela were the leading men: Eduardo Yáñez, Sebastián Rulli, and Francisco Gattorno. The soundtrack is really good, and I loved all the songs.
It includes the songs: “No me compares,” “Me puedes pedir lo que sea,” “Ahora tú,” and “El amor no es perfecto.” From these, I chose the song “Me Puedes Pedir lo que Sea” by Marconi, performed as a duet with Eiza González.

Believe it or not, my #Music friend, true love does exist, and sometimes we get distracted by a mirage and overlook what’s truly worthwhile.

“Para Volver a Amar” from a Televisa telenovela that aired in 2010 and 2011. Whenever the telenovela channel reruns it, I can’t tear myself away from the TV. This show addresses issues in the daily lives of many women living in a society that is still sexist. However, I want to emphasize that men are also harassed, abused, misunderstood, and humiliated when they fall in love. Still, it is possible to start over after betrayal and heartbreak.
Perhaps I’m exaggerating when I say that the person who loves is the one who loses in a relationship that’s supposed to be about love, but turns into a battlefield where the winner is whoever manages to dominate and manipulate. Sometimes it’s very difficult to get out of a toxic relationship, but if you have the courage and ask for help, it is possible. Life goes on, and you’ll love again. The featured song, “Para volver a amar,” was released in 2009 on the album Boleto De Entrada Deluxe Edition.

Even when things go really badly, we have to learn to get back up after a fall. In love, cry, but get back up and keep going—because true love might be waiting for you just around the corner.
“Víveme” by Laura Pausini, the theme song for the telenovela “La Madrastra”; even though it’s an adaptation of the original, it was the first time I’d seen it. I was fascinated by this telenovela, because the mystery and the hunt for the killer kept me hooked—I didn’t want to miss a single episode. Even though I worked for years with Penélope and the entire “Criminal Minds” team, the killer outsmarted me, and I didn’t manage to catch him before María Fernández did.
María and Esteban—an unforgettable couple; the actress Victoria Ruffo, one of the best on Mexican television, and César Évora, a heartthrob. Seriously, they really did exchange some steamy glances and passionate love scenes. Applause for this great cast that worked on this telenovela. Especially to Guillermo García Cantú for his role as Demetrio.

A murderer and a convoluted plot that made it an unforgettable telenovela; I consider it one of the best telenovelas Mexican television has ever produced. Above all, the theme song from the soundtrack, “Víveme.”

Pero solo alguien que nunca ha amado puede criticar, porque cuando amas, no hay otro camino más que amar intensamente, aunque el mundo se venga abajo. Lo que más le gustó a mi amiga Paraulata de esta telenovela fueron los protagonistas masculinos: Eduardo Yáñez, Sebastián Rulli y Francisco Gattorno. La banda sonora es realmente buena, y me encantaron todas las canciones.

Stop wondering if today were your last day; don’t waste your time. It’s better to live life to the fullest and to love; even though love sometimes hurts because you love so much, it will always be worth it.
