I want to share with you the day my sister and I spent together last week; it was a bit of an unusual day, but the results were fantastic. For some time now, we’ve been organizing a K-pop event—I’m not a fan of the genre at all, but I enjoy helping my sister. Together, we’ve been visiting cafés and restaurants to find a venue for the event and buying everything needed for the big day. We started by going to a graphic design shop so my sister could print out all the decorations; the weather was sunny and everything was perfect while I waited for her outside.
Quiero compartir con ustedes el día que tuvimos la semana pasada mi hermana y yo, y es que fue un día un poco extraño pero con resultados geniales. Y es que desde hace un tiempo ella y yo estamos organizando un evento de KPop, yo no soy fan para nada del género pero me gusta ayudar a mi hermana, así que junta hemos estado visitando cafés y restaurantes donde llevar a cabo dicho evento y además también hemos estado comprando todo lo necesario para ese día. Primero fuimos a un centro de diseño gráfico para que mi hermana pudiera imprimir todo los diseños para la decoración, el día estaba soleado y todo perfecto mientras yo la esperaba afuera.
But suddenly, the sky gradually clouded over until it turned almost black, and the first raindrops began to fall—just a few scattered drops at first, leading me to think it would be a brief, light shower. However, the rain soon came down with full force and grew very intense. The problem? The day was just getting started and we had a lot to do—specifically, finding a café or restaurant for the event—and we weren't on foot, nor were we in an enclosed vehicle; we were on my sister’s motorized bicycle, so we felt a bit frustrated and disappointed.
Pero de pronto el cielo se fue nublando paulatinamente hasta que se puso casi negro y comenzaron a caer las primeras gotas de lluvia, algunas dispersas y eso me hizo pensar que sería algo pasajero y no tan fuerte, pero después la lluvia cayó con todo su poder y fue muy intensa, pero ¿Cuál era el problema? pues que el día apenas empezaba y teníamos mucho por hacer, en especial, seguir buscando un café o restaurant para el día del evento y nosotras no andábamos a pie pero tampoco en un transporte cerrado, sino en la bicimoto de mi hermana, así que estábamos un poco frustradas y decepcionadas.
However, from where we were—sheltering in the building that houses the graphic design center—I noticed something that caught my eye: a café that had recently opened. I thought about suggesting to my sister that we go over and get some information, and just as I mentioned it, she said she was thinking the exact same thing; so, as soon as the rain stopped and only a few light drops were falling, we headed over there.
Sin embargo desde nuestra posición, (refugiadas en el edificio donde está el centro de diseño gráfico) pude ver algo que me llamó la atención, un café que tiene poco tiempo de haber sido inaugurado, por lo tanto pensé en decirle a mi hermana que fuésemos a buscar información y justamente cuando le dije, ella me respondió que estaba pensando lo mismo, de modo que en cuanto la lluvia paró y solo caían algunas gotas débiles nos acercamos hasta allá.
It is an Asian-run café, largely staffed by the owners themselves, who were incredibly kind and provided top-notch service. We were completely satisfied with the terms and conditions for booking the venue, so we didn't think twice about working with them; we loved the place, the service, the food, and everything about it.
Es un café asiático atendido en su mayoría por sus dueños, los cuales fueron muy pero muy amables, la atención fue de primera y las quedamos absolutamente conformes con los términos y condiciones para reservar el lugar, así que no lo pensamos dos veces y decidimos trabajar con ellos, nos gustó el sitio, la atención, la comida que sirven y todo en general.
They offer an impressive variety of top-quality desserts; best of all, the selection changes constantly—meaning they don't always have the same items—which builds anticipation among customers eager to see what's new. On that particular day, for instance, we had the chance to try a *milhojas* (I had that one) and a raspberry cheesecake (my sister had that one), and both were delicious.
Tienen una variedad de postres impresionante y de altísima calidad, lo mejor de todo es que siempre varían, es decir, no siempre tienen los mismos, lo cuál crea expectativa en el cliente que siempre quiere ir a ver que novedad tienen. Ese día por ejemplo tuvimos la oportunidad de probar, yo una Milhojas y mi hermana una Cheesecake de frambuesas y estaban deliciosas.
They also sell lovely souvenirs with a very kawaii theme, and I particularly loved the little cups because some had that cute, almost childlike style, but others had a more classic, more or less European style; they look like they've been taken from a social scene in a Jane Austen novel.
Además también venden souvenirs preciosos con una temática muy kawaii y yo amé particularmente las tacitas porque algunas sí tenían ese estilo cute casi infantil, pero otras tenían un estilo más clásico, más o menos del estilo europeo, parecen sacadas de alguna escena social de una novela de Jane Austen aja
Estoy realmente feliz de haber encontrado el lugar ideal para el evento, así que esta salida no fue tan caótica como pensábamos que sería debido a la lluvia, de hecho cuando empezó a intensificarse nuevamente esperamos allí a que escampara y fue cuando pudimos ultimar detalles con los dueños.
