Today, I would like to share with you my visit to the beautiful botanical garden located in a city very close to mine. This city has an indigenous name—Naguanagua—and is situated right next to Valencia (my city). It is home to a lovely natural green space officially known as the Bachiller José Saer D'Eguert Botanical Garden, though everyone simply calls it the "Botanical Garden." Spanning approximately 15 hectares and inaugurated in 1945, it is famous for housing over two hundred tree species and a vast array of animal life, with birds and butterflies being particularly abundant.
Hoy me gustaría compartir con ustedes mi visita al hermoso jardín botánico que está en una ciudad muy cercana a la mía, esta ciudad tiene nombre indígena, se llama NaguaNagua y está realmente cerquita de Valencia (mi ciudad) allí hay un precioso pulmón natural, oficialmente se llama Jardín Botánico Bachiller José Saer D'Eguert, aunque todos simplemente lo llaman "Jardín Botánico" Cuenta con aproximadamente 15 hectareas de extensión, fue inaugurado en 1945, y es famoso por albergar más de doscientas especies de árboles y muchísimas especies de animales donde abundan las aves y mariposas.
Right next door is the Olympic Village, which you can see in the first photo of this paragraph. I’m going to be completely honest with you: the place is somewhat neglected—you can tell by the state of the reception building, which looks very run-down, and also in certain parts of the grounds, such as plants meant for planting that are just lying on the ground without any apparent purpose. That said, to be fair, the staff do make an effort to keep the place in good condition, and for the most part, it is beautiful. Right at the entrance, there is a space where people practice aerial ballet on weekends (I’d love to see it in action).
Justo al lado está la villa olímpica que la pueden ver en la primera foto de este párrafo. Voy a ser lo más honesta posible con ustedes, el lugar está medianamente abandonado, se nota en la estructura de la casa de la recepción, se nota muy descuidada y también se nota en algunas partes de recorrido, como plantas que se encuentran listas para sembrar pero están por allí como tiradas en el piso sin ningún cntexto, no obstante para ser justa debo decir que los encargados del lugar se esfuerzan por mantenerlo en buenas condiciones y en su mayorpia está precioso. Justo en la entrada tienen un espacio en el que los fines de semana la gente practica ballet aereo, (me gustaría verlo en funcionamiento)
I like that there are numerous signs throughout the garden providing information about the different landscapes we encounter along the way; there is great biodiversity—we can find savannas, meadows, forests, and even jungle-like areas—and in some spots, it is lovely to see a wide variety of wildflowers, some with beautiful butterflies resting on them.
Me gusta que a lo largo de todo el jardín hay muchos carteles con información acerca de las extensiones que nos vamos encontrando en el camino, hay mucha biodiversidad, pdoemos encontrar sábanas, praderas, bosques e incluso zonas selváticas, y en algunas zonas es hermoso encontrar gran variedad de flores silvestres, algunas de ellas con preciosas mariposas encima.
There are stunning areas in the garden, but one that really caught my eye is the stream running through it—fed by the Cabriales, the main river that flows across the city. There is also a spot that feels straight out of a fairy tale, featuring a massive tree whose branches provide shade and a refreshing coolness; right beneath it, cut logs serve as "seats," preserving a sense of authenticity and direct contact with nature that might otherwise be lost amidst the iron benches and similar fixtures often found in places like this.
Hay zonas bellísimas en el jardín pero de las que me llamaron mucho la atención este arroyo que atraviesa el jardín, proviene del río principal que cruya la ciudad, el río cabriales. También hay una zona que parece de cuento de hadas pues tiene un arbol enorme cuyas ramas dan sobra y una sensación de frescura a los habitantes, y justo debajo de él hay algunos troncos cortados a modo de "asientos" esto hace que la sensación de autenticidad y contacto directo con la naturaleza no se pierda entre banquetas de hierro y cosas por el estilo que a menudo hay en este tipo de lugares.
I promise you, the place is like a dream; there is a truly peaceful atmosphere, with trees ranging from huge ones to tiny ones—like the one I’m showing you in the first photo below this paragraph—but the most beautiful thing is the vast number of flowers and butterflies in every color imaginable. In this photo, I managed to capture some of them feeding on the nectar of those stunning yellow flowers.
Les prometo que el lugar es de ensueño, se respira un aire de mucha paz, hay árboles enormes y árboles muy pequeños como este que les muestro en la primera fotografía debajo de este párrafo, pero lo más hermoso es la gran cantidad de flores y mariposas de todos los colores que hay. En esta fotografía yo logré captar algunas de ellas alimentandose del néctar de esas bellísimas flores amarillas.
But the real star of the garden—located right near the start of the tour—is undoubtedly this massive, centuries-old tree known as the *Samán*. Famous for being over four hundred years old, it casts enough shade to shelter a great many people; in fact, a festival used to be held there some years ago, and I once attended a concert by a very famous singer from my country, Simón Díaz. In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful areas of the botanical garden.
Pero definitivamente la estrella del jardín (y es lo que está casi al inicio del recorrido) es este enorme árbol centenario llamado Samán, es famoso por tener más de cuatrocientos años, su sombra es suficiente para albergar a muchísimas personas, de hecho hace algunos años se hacía un festival allí, y en una ocasión yo asistí a un concierto de un cantante muy famoso de mi país (Simón Diaz) En mi opinión esta es una de las zonas más hermsoas del jardín botánico.
