A very simple, yet deep and thought-provoking topic this is. Life before reality.
Huhm, I have a lot to say, but then, I will keep it small and touch on some things. While growing up, things still went good to some extent; there were bits of ups and downs here and there, but then, it didn't mean much because I thought when I grew up, I would be able to sort it all, I would grow up, finish school, get a good job, have money, have freedom, take care of myself and family, and that's it. I didn't think much about responsibilities since I already believed money would come and handling responsibilities would be way easier that way.
You know, life didn't look that hard back then. But then, reality came, and it is one that you can't but have to face. I began to realize that as an adult you have a lot more unanswered questions, and the questions kept piling up while you have very few answers. You can say it's hard work and begin to work very hard and at the end of the day not get what you want or what you expect. You can make plans and watch the change in your very eyes; you can wake up knowing fully well what to do for the day and find your day taking a completely different turn.
That is adulthood. Also, I've not just seen but also learned that everyone is battling with something. And most times, the people battling with a lot more are those who appear to be doing well. The same way you're trying to put your life together is the same way someone else is trying to, and for your information they may appear better, but may be facing/in a even a more worse situation than you're in.
I missed that old young me though, and this is not to say that I'm willing or wish to go back, nah. Even though my reality isn't what I dreamt of or imagined, it has taught me a lot. And I'm grateful for everything. And that is what you see me moving in even when everything does not look like it. I refuse to back down.
