¡Hola amigas de Ladies Of Hive! ☺️🫶🏽
Hello, Ladies Of Hive! I hope you’re all well. Lately, I’ve been very hard on myself and have only seen the negative things around me. I believe in God and that everything has its time and place, but sometimes it’s hard to accept that there are times when we must wait, times when we must take action, and times when we must simply let Him take charge of whatever situation we’re going through. And I think the topics suggested by @ifarmgirl are so important because they show us that side we don’t want to see – the one that might be holding us back and causing us harm. I’d like to invite my friend @erigm to join the competition too. ☺️🫶🏽
¿Tiene un crítico interno? ¿Cuál es su frase favorita? ¿Cuándo habla más fuerte? Y si fuera una persona, ¿cómo sería? ¿Cómo describirías su personalidad?
Do you have an internal critic? What is its favorite phrase? When does it speak the loudest? And if it were a person, what would it look like? How would you describe its personality?
My inner critic is someone who knows my weakest points, especially at times when I’m not sure what I’m doing or what I should be doing. It’s someone who knows I have the potential but who has a harsh and direct way of telling me that perhaps what I’m doing isn’t enough. It would say things like ‘that’s not worth it’ or ‘you’re wasting your time’. I think it’s something I’ve lived with for most of my life, and it’s probably caused me to let opportunities slip by out of fear of not being up to the task, or simply because of the false belief that I won’t be able to achieve the goals I set myself. It’s difficult to silence that voice, but I think that when I do things I enjoy and don’t feel under pressure, I can let my creativity and the best part of myself flow more freely.
What does true rest (downtime) look like for you? How do you give yourself more of it without feeling guilty?
Rest is undoubtedly essential for any human being; if we didn’t rest, we wouldn’t be in good physical or mental health. I think that, for me, resting means having time to do things that help me feel better emotionally – it could be listening to music or simply writing. But I do feel guilty when I spend a long time resting, even though I know my body needs it, because I think I haven’t done enough to deserve that rest. Perhaps that’s why I find it a bit difficult to relax, and that’s incredibly exhausting – it stops you from thinking clearly or functioning at your best. Silence helps me relax a great deal; although some people don’t like silence, for me it symbolises peace and tranquillity. Perhaps that’s why I appreciate being at home with my things and my family so much.
